Title: Printer Driver shenanigans
Post by: TequilaClock on May 01, 2009, 01:18:06 PM
Hewlett-Packard, you did it again.

Say I am trying to install the driver of my HP Deskjet 3845 and everything runs ok until it requests me a file named "hpf2yo10.dat" that never existed.

I tried googling it but I only find other pages with the same problem and no real solution at all.

I am posting this here as it is urgent because I have to print a lot of shit soon for a final I am presenting. So I need help ASAP.

PS: Slightly related, when I try to print in another computer, instead of starting it requests me to save as a .xps file which either way if I save or not it doesn't do anything, its fucking stupid.

Don't you have a printer at school? I have a fucking wireless laser printer here that never seems to work properly, so I print most of what I do at work.

If not, has the printer ever worked? If so, try installing the drivers on another machine and print from there. Also, try taking it back and demand a replacement while they find a solution.

Quote"hpf2yo10.dat"

The technician's CP made it into the install file.

I have a printer at work that is essentially a massive copy machine. Who the hell knows how much it costs (I really don't want to know), because I tell it to print and literally within a second the first sheet is done, full color, glossy if I want it, looking so damn nice it makes me sick.

It makes my home printer look sad, cheap and I'm a edgy teen.
