Chuck
Eureka
Heroes
Stargate Atlantis
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles
Those are the one I've seen all up to date (on your list) though Ive seen episodes of most of them.
Suggestions:
FringeSci-fi action/crime/mystery, probably one of my favorite shows
FBI agent enters a special division, recruits a genius boy and his mentally unstable father who worked on fringe science to solve strange murders and events called the Pattern. I highly recommend this one!
Charlie JadeSci-fi action/mystery
Private eye in a dim future gets caught in an explosion that sends him to another version of the Earth. Leads him to investigate a way back uncovering vast secrets of a huge mega corporation trying to steal water resources from the other worlds. (Too bad it was canceled after the first season :()
SanctuarySci-fi action/drama
Kid who doesn't think hes going anywhere in life is invited to join a secret organization that tracks and studies abnormals (ie people with powers or rare animals).
I didn't see Dr.Who but I would suggest them. Watching the 1960's ones are more hilarious than anything though.
Also, I totally agree on Torchwood, its pretty ridiculous.
Quote from: Franklin G. Hamilton;1589228I've seen a few episodes of Fringe, but it never really appealed to me. Which is weird, because I like pretty much everything else JJ Abrams has done.
Depends on the episodes you saw, though most of them I find are quite good, especially when you get into the second half of the season.
QuoteI saw an ad for Dr Who on CBC once, at it looked just as horrible as Torchwood (infact I almost used Dr Who as my example before settling on the latter)
I can assure you Torchwood is many times more horrible than Dr Who.
Its one of those shows that tries to be everything at once and fails at it all.
I personally like Supernatural, it's like about the whole demons thing but more from an urban legend kind of approach, specially the first 2 seasons. I specially like the diversity of the show, one episode can be very detectivy while another can be very action based. Also great soundtracks, stuff like CCR, ACDC and Kansas
Also i know you said no cartoons but Venture Bros. is a must see show if you ask me. Specially considering it's pretty much made for our generation with all '80's and '90's references.
Oh and i don't know how you feel about English shows but i really liked Extras. It's with that dude from the Office Uk and he plays an extra in various movies. It has loads of cameo's and it's overall hilarious. Perhaps the most legendary scene is:
[u2]Fg_cwI1Xj4M[/u2]
This is my favorite episode though:
[u2]Y9T5cxnowyA[/u2]
Mad Men (I think it's my favorite show currently running)
Deadwood (It's by the John from Cincinnati guys)
In Treatment
Lie to Me
I can't quite understand why you wouldn't give any anime a chance. There's actually well drawn, written, and voiced animes out there like Cowboy Bebop.
I have to agree with Triangle; it's not so much anime I dislike as the entire association that it has.
that in mind, Triangle, I would actually reccomend watching the show Paranoia Agent. It's amazingly well-written and is only thirteen episodes long. On top of that, I would say it's the least anime-y anime I've ever seen. It's a fantasy about a series of violent assualts by a young teenager on a group of random people, and how the assualts actually benifit the lives of the victims, and the unravelling mental stability of the police on the case. To date its the only anime I've seen that relies heavily on symbolism, fuck, one of the overlying themes of the show is mocking cutesy anime shit
Watch the UK version of The Office and Extras, like Pirate said.
Twin Peaks is cool, watch that
british comedy:
Monty Python (durrrr)
the Fast Show
Little Britain (hit or miss)
Blackadder
Red Dwarf
sci fi:
original battlestar galactica (haven't watched this yet but i hear good things)
V (the old miniseries, supposedly there's gonna be a new series)
Star trek (this is hard to swallow, you probably don't like it)
movies > tv though
I have heard a lot of great things about Firefly, stuff like being the EarthBound of TV series (if you know what I mean) and other weeping, but still haven't seen a single detail of it.

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann was awesome too, but the second season was miserable and disappointing shit compared to the badassery on the first season.
That point made, I don't want this thread to turn into an anime one so, moving on...
I like One Piece
Also I still want to see the latest seasons of Scrubs, I kind missed a lot of the new stuff.
Also also, I really want to see My Name is Earl as I have seen just like one or two episodes
I thought you werent watching the new scrubs?
My Name is Earl was really great for two seasons
Quote from: PatriotClock;1589424I thought you werent watching the new scrubs?
... I didn't express it right?
EDIT: Oh, not me.
Two More:
Painkiller Jane
Action Sci-fi
After investigating at drug company, a woman gains the power to heal nearly any wound. She is forced to join an agency that hunts neuros, people with special mental powers.
Dresden Files
Sci-fi mystery
A private eye/wizard solves mysterious supernatural cases and finds missing persons the police can't. You can see the episodes here. (http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=A325A69D87E32454)
You should watch 30 Rock.
Oh yeah Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip
I'm Alan Partridge
[u2]n5jpVbEL0jc[/u2]
i don't have the time to watch that much shitty tv. i don't like tv that much honestly. there are 4 shows that i will actually watch without multitasking:
always sunny in philadelphia
venture bros
house
and yeah the british version of the office is great, but i don't watch it anymore
THE WIRE
The Sopranos
Twin Peaks
Curb your Enthusiasm
i hear eastbound and down is good stuff, i'm a fan of danny mcbride and jody hill has fast become a name i respect thanks to the great films, foot fist way and observe and report. think i'll start watching it when this season of breaking bad wraps up.
but yeah definitely watch the wire, single greatest tv show of all time, be patient with it though. season one has a slow build up, you'll like season 2 less because it basically switches to being about an entirely different set of characters, although it is essential to telling the entire story. season 3 is pretty good, season 4 is fucking amazing, flat out incredible, and i have yet to watch season 5 because i lost my internet just as i finished season 4 and i want to rewatch the entire series before i jump into season 5.
oh and the show is about baltimore, mainly about the drug trade, each season focuses on a different aspect of the trade. season one,the streets, season 2, the docks, season 3, the politicians, etc. etc.
anyway it is immaculately written, acted and directed.
Quote from: peyote;1589717
Curb your Enthusiasm
I should check this one out.
I only watch
Its Always Sunny
The Office
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Comedies are the only things worth watching
Oz - prison drama about an experimental ward in oswald correctional facility called emerald city where prisoners are given relaxed priviledges, its got j jona jameson from spiderman as an aryan brotherhood leader. not as much buttsex as they say
So I opened this thread up last night and didn't post in it
Then I saw it this morning and thought "oh yeah why didn't I post in this?"
Then I read 3 or 4 of Triangle's posts and remembered why
Lost
The Office
Breaking Bad
Venture Brothers (fuck yeah)
I have probably seen every Futurama and South Park.
Scrubs is a terrible show and I don't see how you guys can watch it. The only good part about it is Dr. Cox.
Quote from: PatriotClock;1589812Its Always Sunny
The Office
Curb Your Enthusiasm
I stopped watching IASIP after the first season, but I loved the first one. How is curb your enthusiasm? I might rent the first season if it is any good.
Lost is cool, but you have to be prepared to sit through the shitty third series. Also Venture Brothers is a must if you haven't seen all the episodes.
Quote from: Buttplug :V;1589938I stopped watching IASIP after the first season, but I loved the first one.
always sunny is great, it's still as funny as it ever was imo. you should rent seasons 2 and 3. you have to watch most of season 2 in order as it has kind of a story arc over the episodes.
Quote from: Poltergeisty;1589946Lost is cool, but you have to be prepared to sit through the shitty third series. Also Venture Brothers is a must if you haven't seen all the episodes.
my only gripe with venture bros is that you have to watch all the episodes to really get the show. i mean, that makes it way more interesting, but sometimes it's a pain in the ass if i don't get a chance to see one episode when they're all airing
Curb Your Enthusiasm is really amazing. Some people don't really get it (mostly girls) but if you do you'll fucking love it.
If you're up for watching some British comedy I recommend Peep Show, it's absolutely brilliant.
Those are pretty much the only two shows I'll happily watch over and over again.
Quote from: Franklin G. Hamilton;1590386well shit i cant find any site that is streaming episode 1 of the wire. i dont really wana torrent 6 seasons of a tv show :/
You could always just select the first few episodes out of the torrent. When you begin to torrent a list of the files inside it should pop up, select the first one or two episodes.
Heroes is a pretty cool show, although I found that it's hard to get people to start watching it during the second or third season, mainly because it slacks a bit in writing. Then again, I was watching it from the start and I still love it.
and Futurama is fun fun fun
heroes: great first season, shitty second season, unwatchable third.
Quote from: TequilaClock;1589376Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann was awesome too, but the second season was miserable and disappointing shit compared to the badassery on the first season.
fuck that, the second part of it after the time jump was still amazing and wrapped the series up nicely, especially the last few episodes, the things they talk about and the subjects they go into and it was just epic and kicked ass
also it's not like we have anywhere to talk about anime thanks clock crew admins for being such cool people you truly enjoy your art
Quote from: negroinacaddyclock;1591622I could not see Clam enjoying this anymore than Torchwood.
I dunno, Torchwood is really far down there. I don't think Dresden is that bad.
Degrassi: The Next Generation
Dawson's Creek
Beverley Hills 90210
venture bros
What's the british one like?
Quote from: RomanClock;1591975I dunno, Torchwood is really far down there. I don't think Dresden is that bad.
why exactly do you hate it so much i thought torchwood was pretty good
Quote from: Franklin G. Hamilton;1619828fuck british humor completely.
This times infinity!
Quote from: Franklin G. Hamilton;1619848pretty much all the us characters are based on the british ones, except the us ones are actually funny
That's weird, from what I've seen the US characters don't seem to be any more or less funny. Regardless of that! I've found the american version less enjoyable to watch so maybe it's just a case of not being able to relate to foreigners.
Quote from: Revolver Ocelot;1619847why exactly do you hate it so much i thought torchwood was pretty good
I thought it was pretty terrible but actually I watched the latest series this week, which was in the form of a kind of five part mini-series movie thing and it was really actually quite good. Good down to earth writing, no ridiculous swearing/sex/violence for the sake of being grown up, no shitty special effects (well maybe one but it was passable unlike the I'm a edgy teen playstation quality cgi aliens in the first series). The story was mostly really good and I was constantly surprised at the bold moves the writers were willing to take and how little they fucked up by going all tedious cool sci-fi shit with it. It's worth a watch even if you didn't like the rest of Torchwood (which is pretty understandable).
hey tri i saw mst3k wasn't on your list you should fix that
Quote from: fedoraclock;1620004hey tri i saw mst3k wasn't on your list you should fix that
That show sucks.
Why are you avoiding Venture Bros so hard, why? Don't you like being entertained?
