a totally original Korean game (http://kotaku.com/5306691/korean-pc-game-rips+off-team-fortress-2)
yeah, team fortress was totally the first online first person shooter
What an awful-looking game.

We Need a toy dispensa' here

point of the matter is that TF2 isn't a particularly original game either
Quote from: Marlix Wright;1611297The first of its style and the first to have different classes with specific weapons and strengths.
Which is totally unique because there aren't any other games with different classes

Apparently coming up with the idea first doesn't make it original at all.

A little slow tonight champ, arn't cha.
There is a million things copied from Team Fortress 2 in that video.
Weapon sounds/appearance/usage (minigun, bat, pipebomb, etc.)
The style of the video (camera angles etc.) is highly similar to
Meet The Videos (the beginning music is similar aswell)
Scout clone using bat, double jumping
Solider clone has similar helmet, rocket jumping
Do i have to go on? Be dumb somewhere else.
I was pretty much :\ when i saw that.
If it's free, i may try it out. If it's a PAY game, then oh-ho-ho-ho-ho.
Also did i see a hint of Ubercharge at the very very end?
"I AM BUWWET PWOOF"
Shush shush, I know you guys are some kind of hardcore team fortress fans, I'm just trolling you a bit, why? because you're that eager to step forward to defend a game and for what purpose?
Mind you that I've never played TF2, but when you're making a game, any game, there are bound to be similarities to another game, and if good stuff from one game is copied to another, then isn't that a good thing? doesn't that mean two games have the same positive qualitities?
Quote from: Wind-up Clock;1611308If it's free, i may try it out. If it's a PAY game, then oh-ho-ho-ho-ho.
What part of
Korean game don't you understand?
Free to play, almost mandatory cash shop items to make your character look cool.

Stopped reading here. Please exit the topic like a gentlemen.

Hopefully that's things like hats, not them pay-only uber weapon types. I want this to be a competition of skills, not a who-has-the-biggest-goddamn-wallet contest.

This can go either way, but i don't see weapons lying around in the video which is a bad sign.
And what exactly is that little pill-bottle thing? Liquid ubercharge?
It's weird though, it seemed like any class could use any weapon.
It could be that the classes draw from a common pool of weapons.
Also, a bat? Really? a bat? I would have expected a croquet mallet. Adding a double-jump to that...
Quote from: Marlix Wright;1611320It's weird though, it seemed like any class could use any weapon.
I don't think there is
classes.
Be an Anime Girl Toy (Female) or a Stikfa Toy (male), customize your own character (clothes and hair, this is where the cash shop will kill you), and anyone can use any weapon. Just a guess though.
If it's a TF2 ripoff they probably cannot balance for shit and make the stickybomb esque weapon ever more powerful. You could just use that.
I'd play as a robot and kill all the animefags. Shit would be hilarious.

Fuck yes I'll help you
But just think how much better TF2 would be if the Heavy was an anime girl!

If it didn't have the Japanesey shit i'd totally buy this

Battlefield : Heroes? anyone?
Also, game looks shit imo.

tbh it's hard to call battlefield heroes a rip off when the only thing remotely similar being the game has guns, classes and an aesthetic style based on a similar time period.
It's actually a ripoff of Gang Garrison 2.
DUN! DUN! DUN! DUN! do do do do do!

So yeah I can't tell if you are being sarcastic or what.
wasn't battlefield heroes a TF2 ripoff as well and it turned out to be a pretty cool game ?
Quote from: ASSHATCLOCK;1611893wasn't battlefield heroes a TF2 ripoff as well and it turned out to be a pretty cool game ?
The graphical styles may be very similar, but the gameplay is quite different from TF2, even though they're both shooters.
Battlefield Heroes has different physics, it's a third person shooter, there are vehicles, and upgradeable abilities and weapons, the gameplay just has an entirely different feel to me. I quite like it.
The characters don't look toy-ish enough. It needs like a teddy bear as the heavy or something.
Quote from: LarryDavidClock;1611873So yeah I can't tell if you are being sarcastic or what.
I'm being serious.
I just dislike people calling it a rip off of Team Fortress 2 when there is quite a difference between the two in terms of gameplay.
The only similarities it has in gameplay is that you shoot people, you have classes and there are points to capture. But those things alone are a core part of the Battlefield franchises gameplay.
The only real similarities are in terms of the visual style. They do look similar but I feel they come from different roots. Team Fortress 2 is based on commercial art earlier in the century while Battlefield Heroes appears to draw upon more World War 2 based imagery. Things such as propaganda posters and dem babes painted on da planes.
So in essence the art style is based off of two similar yet different things.
The visual cues and hints along with the audio that goes along with them are also quite different across the two games.
Team Fortress 2 applies a more stylised spy fiction aspect to it whilst Battlefield Heroes is essentially cartoony.
Even the intentions of the designs are quite different. Valve desigined the visual aspects of Team Fortress 2 with story and playability in mind, allowing for things to just appear logical in the universe of the game and allowing players to see through the chaos. DICE on the otherhand intended for a more accessible game that has a casual feel and mood that doesn't confuse players too much.
I personally disbelieve that DICE ripped off the visual style of Team Fortress 2. It doesn't surprise me that more then one company wanted to make something other then brown shooter.
butthurt tf2 fans :(
I think this game looks awesome, I'd definitely buy it.
Killzone 2 ripped off TF2 just as much
I hope Valve sues the shit out of them! woo!
I think the second most glaring problem (aside from this ripping off TF2) is that it makes you pay real money for better weapons. Kinda like MapleStory! :O

Lol I didn't even know this. Of course people will pay anything to deck out their very own anime character, this has been proven time and time again.

Makes me facepalm time and time again to see these poor kids being sucked in to pyramid-scheme bullshit.
Lets see...
Shitty weeaboo toys
Trailer is waaay to similar to the Meet The Class videos
WILL have a cash shop
Yeah, this'll be great to troll.

this post made me cringe
I really think I've played this before. I have no idea what it was called when I did, but I did.
Edit: Oh, I remember now. It was a custom Quake II map that looked almost exactly like the giant room this takes place in. All of the other players looked like anime girls or just bizarre things. That was a long time ago.
More like Kawaii Fortress 2

Pay for something that doesn't exist, Korean "pirates" get money. And if it's anything like MapleStory, they'll make you pay to keep the imaginary shit you bought, too.

It's a scheme, yeah, but not a pyramid scheme. A pyramid scheme was if they would then make you recruit other people to play the game and buy shit and you get dividends of the shit they bought while the people who recruited you would also get dividends of the money you get from the people who bought stuff, and then the people you recruited had to recruit people to buy stuff...
You know, like a pyramid.

It's a pyramid scheme from the fact that as soon as someone buys the 1337 gun, everyone around that person is going to want to buy it. Rinse and repeat for pyramid.
You guys don't seem to get this. This is not a Pyramid scheme. They are selling virtual possessions, and people buy them. That is just a business practice. If this game for some I'm a edgy teen reason allows players to buy clothes and then lets players sell them while giving a portion of those profits back to the game company then that would be a pyramid scheme, but as is this is just another game with virtual transactions.
Quote from: WasabiClock;1615657It's a pyramid scheme from the fact that as soon as someone buys the 1337 gun, everyone around that person is going to want to buy it. Rinse and repeat for pyramid.

receive money
"give me your money, I'll give it back to you later with interest"
receive money and pay off previous loan

Quote from: LarryDavidClock;1616044Wait, what? Then what's a Fonzie Scheme?
A Fonzie scheme is when you smack a jukebox and give free music to ladies, thereby expecting (and getting) sex in return. There's no way this scheme can fall apart because you are Fonzie (until you jump a shark).
