EDWARD D. WOOD JR THAT IS!
I've seen this movie a bunch of times now, and each time it seriously gets better.
Last night I watch it again and officially declared it A. The best Burton film and B. I would be fucking surprised if this did not make it on ever 200 best films list.
The setting is totally fucking awesome.
The characters are hysterical yet always tragic.
The writing is absolutely beautiful, just like the cinematography and the music.
The story is very thick. Every time I watch this movie I consider different things and notice a different message that Burton is sending out. The movie is littered with homages.
After Ed Wood Burton began his decline as a director and I can see why. This movie has got beauty bursting out of it between it's seams. Its marvelously well done and every scene is magical. It is a masterpiece in and of itself. So sad that there is a little appreciation for just how FUCKING great this movie really damn is.
And, with that said, I can now totally understand what Burton is doing. He probably had to ring his heart out like a wet wash cloth to get everything he needed for Ed Wood. It seems to me like this movie was what Burton was born to make, and after it was hardly a commercial success, he began making movies designed to be. I would as well.

Ed Wood?
Yeah, I've been meaning to see it.
its the kind of movie where when I'm feeling like shit, I just say to myself "At least Ed Wood got made"
burtons best film in my opinion. He was able to create a movie that had a wonderful style to it without seeming childish at all
It is pretty good alright, it's nice to see him not attempting to remake The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari and instead trying to remake Glen or Glenda
how is it at all a remake?
also as a stand alone picture its tender, funny and cool not to mention it moves along pretty damn well. Its one of those movies that if you see its on, you really gotta watch it for a little bit because every scene is good.
I really liked that movie and I'm also a big fan of Ed Wood's movies too.

It's not a remake, but a lot of scenes are straight references to Glen or Glenda
I'm not saying that's a bad thing
Oh, oh God I did not know thaaaaaaaa-:myretinas:
