QuoteFour Phoenix boys are behind bars. They are young, only between 9 and 14 years old, but allegedly committed a heinous crime. Police say the four boys raped an 8-year-old girl last week.
The boys allegedly lured the girl into an empty storage shed July 16th, offering her gum. There they restrained the young girl and sexually assaulted her.
In a devastating twist, the girl's parents disowned her. Police say the parents blamed her for the attack and said she brought shame to the family.
The girl is in custody of Child Protective Services.
Investigators say the girl and the four suspects are all Liberian refugees. The girl and three of the suspects all live in the same apartment complex.
The 14-year-old boy is being charged as an adult with two counts of sexual assault and kidnapping. The other boys are being charged as juveniles.
That's fucked up.
Why do they always charge children as adults if they've done something bad enough?
It was all her fault.
Quote from: RocketFetus;1628189It was all her fault.
At least it wasn't in some parts of the middle east, she would have been stoned or beaten severely.

You don't think this dude deserves to be charged as an adult?
Quote from: Sinister;1628183Why do they always charge children as adults if they've done something bad enough?
Cause if you're man enough to rape an 8 year old your man enough to suck bubba's dick in prison.
There's a difference between rape and let's say stealing. All kids have stolen something at one point in there life, something small to see how far you can go, just once. Rape however indicates that personal has troubled views regarding violence and sexuality and could be a serious danger to society in the future.
why does a 14 year old want an 8 year old's pussy is my question
almast as bad as this junior in my high school who always flirted with the kids from middle school, 6th, 7th graders.
I made fun of him so much he changed out of any classes he had with me
I don't understand the point of distinguishing between adults and juveniles if we can just say a child is an adult when we feel like punishing them more.

If you're 14 and raping people, it's pretty easy to tell you're going to be about the same for the rest of your life.
Why would the girl's parents disown her? It just doesn't make sense :(

Being a deflowered SLUT
I don't even know what to say.
Jesus Christ...
Why aren't adults who do petty enough crimes charged as juveniles?

This happened to a friend and I on two separate occasions.

Do tell!
Quote from: Bobber;1628436Why would the girl's parents disown her? It just doesn't make sense :(
I'm going to assume that these Liberians are muslim, because disowning the rape victim or even
honor killing them doesn't seem to be out of the ordinary for fundamentalist cultures.
Oi, WTF
Thats... Just horrible. In many senses of the word.

If you're 14 and raping people, you got a hella more chance of turning into a life of not rapingness than a 40 year old rapist. Prison is
supposed to be about rehabilitation, not just retribution.
Quote from: Sinister;1628915Prison is supposed to be about rehabilitation, not just retribution.
Not necessarily. Especially in the US.
rehabilitation, but also punishment and deterrence.
Quote from: Heliopios;1628437Being a deflowered SLUT
Harsh... But fair.
Quote from: Dark Corpsegrinder;1629212Rape just isn't a funny thing to me anymore.
Are you okay Corpsie? Put you're feet up and I'll draw you a bath, it'll ALL be back to normal in the morning.
Quote from: Dark Corpsegrinder;1629259lol sorry pencil I wasn't trying to make you feel bad, it's just that it stops being funny when you can relate to it on a personal level from being worried all the time about someone you love.
So what you are saying is that if there is nobody you love that more things become funny and you will laugh more, so your life becomes more pleasant.
If it's part of the dad's way of life, then I understand. It is after all his decision and what he thinks is right.
Quote from: Dark Corpsegrinder;1629003I think it's all the more common for prison to encourage criminal activities and mindsets than to genuinely cure them, and I don't think rape is an exception. I think that psychiatric care is far more likely to have a beneficial influence on those boys than putting them in prison.
But that's not a punishment. When you do something wrong you should be punished. If the only thing that will happen to you when you do something wrong is simply talking to someone about your problems, why would you stop doing it? A psychiatrist will probably not deter an individual from committing a crime. You are right that prison is supposed to help behavioral problems, its just that when you put a bunch of messed up people together, bad things will happen regardless. Its a compounding social effect, when you force prisoners to interact with each other, you force them to adapt to the lifestyles that the other prisoners bring in such as other rapists, murderers, gangsters and drug dealers. Which is why I would like separate prisons for different crimes, so someone who stole a bike doesn't end up having to deal with murderers, they just aren't the same.
Get your umbrellas ready, kids. This one's gonna get messy.
That's just...Bad, man.
fucking sick

Batman would never do such a thing
Quote from: Dark Corpsegrinder;1630030Having no empathy or compassion does make the suffering of others more comedic. It fits perfectly with the old saying "Ignorance is bliss"
So if you don't mind being heartless and mindless then it's probably the way to go.
Your smart =3
Quote from: Dark Corpsegrinder;1630030I guarantee you, being committed to a mental health facility for several years because of a heinous sex crime conviction is going to follow you.
There will be more than sufficient punishment, shame, and castigation for a kid. The difference is whether attention will be given to actually correcting his problems or whether he'll be placed in a breeding ground for them.

I think it's just a part of growing up, really. As one gets older you're more likely to be exposed to horrible things and by being influenced by it on a personal level you feel the weight of the situation/incident more so than just reading about it in the newspaper or on the internet.
Quote from: arneklok;1629605If it's part of the dad's way of life, then I understand. It is after all his decision and what he thinks is right.
Fuck that and fuck him. I don't give a shit about his family tradition. If it says that he must disown his daughter when she is raped at age 8 then FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIM
I do hope this girl goes to a much better foster family. She obviously won't be glad she got raped, but she'll be glad it got her out of that awful family.
