I use this thing called CalmXav. But I've never downloaded anything that had a virus anyway.

Virus scanner? Oooh thats right, windows users need those. That's cute. I suppose you need malware detectors too.

No, it's fine, I'll stay with my nice secure Unix - I might not get the cool apps, and I might have to pay more, but I've never had a virus on this computer in the two years I've been using it.


Smugness aside I find AVG Free and Avast to be two very competent antivirus systems, but I don't think any of the scanners met some kind of industry standard this year. Basically they all suck right now.

I always had like proper ones you buy and it expired last year, so i looked into renewing it and it was like 60€ and i was like, fuck that. So i've been using AVG since and haven't really gotten any problems.

Also, user controls on windows vista x64 so any time anything wants to fuck with any one of my files, it needs my permission(Window pops up and tells me what program is trying to do what to what)
