Hey guys, how has everyone been? i am thinking of making flash movies again. Its been so many years though, am i better off using the same version i used years ago? or use the latest version of flash
I hope i remeber how to use it its been to damm long >.<
I remember you.
For you I don't think there's any reason to have a flash version past MX. Most of the new features don't matter that much unless you're really hardcore into flash.
The only problem I can see you having (and I have the same problem using mx 04) is that you wont find alot of .flas compatible with MX. The majority of the CC seems to be using CS3 or flash 8.
Stick with your old version.

Only nerds use other peoples flas.
(unless they're using a classic clock fla that orange made)

This. However, if you've got a version older than 8, you can usually find someone to convert it to mx 2004 format, and someone with mx 2004 to convert it to mx (like myself).
The biggest advantages with the newer versions are for programming, but the filter effects added in flash 8 can be useful for animation. Really, though, it's been a while since they added any must-have animation features.
One other problem you might have is compatability. If you've upgraded your operating system (Or CPU), you might not be able to run the older version properly. If I run MX 2004 on my newer computer, entering/exiting a movieclip takes several seconds.
Edit: Even if you use your own stuff most of the time, it can still cause problems when using someone else's preloader, etc.

:hi5:
The only thing I've done in CS3 that I wouldn't have been able to do in MX07 is use the filter tool to make cool looking lightening bolts. That's about it.
Also welcome back.
