Title: It's a Monster! game WIP
Post by: AmberArachnidClock on August 25, 2009, 06:21:12 PM
Hey guys, I'm still making this game, and I want to know your guys' feedback. Right now I have most of the actionscript done, and before I add more to the game I would like to know any comments/concerns you may have.

Here's the game so far:

Nice, you should make things you can pick up glow when you are near them. And it should tell you how much you heal after eating something. Looks pretty good so far, if you need any help you can talk to me :)

I'm loving it so far.  Do you plan on having it so that eating certain objects/enemies grants special powers?

I love it so far, but the "X and Z" control scheme just sucks on non-english keyboards, where Y and Z are reversed.
There are so many keys on a keyboard, why does it always have to be Z for game controls? ._.

Looks and plays really well so far! :) Are you still going to need any help for this? You seem to have it all under control but I'd love to get in on this. Even with small things like backgrounds or perhaps level design. Whatevers you want. :)

Actually, backgrounds would be great. If I give you a base drawing do you think you could make a background off of it?

This is really fun! x and z work great on a laptop keyboard

It's not a matter of desktop vs. laptop, it's qwerty vs. azerty.

This game feels like it has no challenge. Every enemy is easily killed in one hit and heals you for more damage than it could possibly have inflicted. This also makes the throw feature useless as just eating people is always the best answer. Maybe some large mobs of enemies or people too fat to eat would help.

It's still pre alpha he needs to finish the mechanics before he can refine gameplay.

Don't worry this is just the first level ;)
