That is very refreshing to hear. Normally age isn't kind to horror films, so new generations tend to look at them as more comedic. I can see that with some of the later Nightmare movies, but I saw the first three when I was like 4 or 5, so I had nightmares about Freddy for many years. :o
btw i drew this hours ago and was gonna upload it but decided it wasn't funny but now I DON'T EVEN GIVE A FUCK!

nightmare on elm street fighter
It might be I've been obsessing with Silent Hill so much I view everything through a horror lense but it actually reminds me alot of said series.
It looks like they're doing it good this time.
So far so-so.
I was hoping they would come up with more new scenes rather then just remaking the best bits from the original.
Yeah saw this couple of days ago it looks neat but so did the Halloween remake trailer.. and the Friday the 13th remake trailer.. and the Texas Chainsaw remake trailer.. I also heard they are remaking Hellraiser.
It just looks like a typical horror movie remake trailer to me.
horror remakes are the new super hero remakes.

Next up is remakes of science fiction! 2001: A Space Odyssey, Blade Runner and Dune all remade for a new generation!
It's interesting, remakes are like remakes nowadays.

But just wait until the remake!

Well the thing with super hero remakes is that for most popular super heroes there is like 50+ years of storytelling to draw inspiration from, complete with various themes, settings and even origins (See the difference between Dark Knight and Batman forever). Horror movies however don't have this luxury and keep spewing out pretty much the same stuff over and over. It's for this reason i always preferred the Hellraiser series when it came to horror movies, if you watch all 8 Hellraisers you'll realize they are completely different movies, ranging from your basic slasher to psychological thriller and everything in between.
Michael Bay is involved, going to be a shit movie. End of story.
this is going be fucking horrible
imagine somebody other than Jim Carrey playing Ace Ventura and trying to be Jim Carrey.
this is what is going to happen here
Looks terrible. Especially when Freddy tears open his jacket to reveal the stripy jumper at the beginning. That was lame. Also I don't like the implication at the beginning that Freddy was innocent of the crimes he was burned for.
But also I thought that one shot of his face at the end was pretty damn creepy
