For awhile now, I've been thinking of this huge project that would be of incredible use to you guys and future clocks. Recently, I was able to make some decent progress with it.
It's basically an elaborate system that will archive any flash movie on Newgrounds, or more importantly: clock movies. You simply enter the Newgrounds URL into a form, and our site will do the rest. It'll grab important information (such as the author, the date submitted, and the icon itself) and store it in a database. This obviously allows quick & easy sorting through the submissions, as opposed to the archaic search system on Newgrounds.
We named it "Clockfeed" for now. If you guys like the name, then we'll keep it. If you have suggestions, feel free to post them. It's currently in very early beta stages, and is being worked on as I type this post. A simple submit form is in the works and will be completed by tonight. Other issues remain, however, and they will be resolved as this project continues.
Now, I need your help. This project is too big for weenie roast and I. He's scripting most, if not ALL of the entire project. We could really use several beta testers and debuggers to help sort out any issues and problems that may arise. If you'd like to help, then reply to this thread. I'll contact you further, and grant you administrative abilities.
Another thing, this project could really use some funding. weenie roast is currently out of a job, and does stuff like this to make a living. Any donations would really really REALLY be appreciated, as it would help him pay off some overdue bills. So if you could, please do!
STATUS: Laying out where the content will go on the main page such as featured, random, and just added. Also adding FAQ and search page.
This sounds like a pretty chill idea. I'd like to help any way I can.

This made me lol.
It think it's a bitchin' idea, but I'm already paying weenie roast for something he's doing for me, so there.
i dont pay weenie roast he pays me
i like the idea of a movie database, because it could be used as a sort of meta portal for us
but building such a system with only newgrounds in mind is not very smart
newgrounds is great for supporting us for years and recently even hosting our website, but what reason do we even have anymore to submit shit to newgrounds?
exposure to 13 year olds? cash prizes that, although great for stimulating people for an event, can barely buy you a tablet, let alone compensate you for the sometimes massive amounts of work?
if youre gonna do this you shouldnt restrict it to newgrounds, nor should you spend too much time making it super compatible with it
I can not help in the form of capital investment but whatever else I'd try to oblidge.

The system (at least from my view, but then again, I'm not the one coding it) looks pretty open to adjustments such as a clock portal and stuff.
But until there really is a need for a separate clock portal or something like that, this looks like the best choice. And as Sarez said, it'd be best to stick to this project and just keep expanding and updating it before the clock crew knows what it actually wants to do with itself.

Fuck I forgot I supposedly have a prize from Clock Day.

its ours. we run it.
I'M FUCKING PUMPED
I will help by fixing all of weenie roast's mistakes even though I don't know PHP or whatever language this is going to be written in.
i'd love to test
We're having a slight delay because of the php time limit of 60 seconds for running scripts. In order to grab all the information it takes longer than that. We're currently trying to find a work around.
EDIT: We've come up with a (hopefully) temporary system to do this. Hopefully a workaround can be found to have server-side do this refresh of information.

Could you have a program periodically check for results from subroutines until it gets the data? Or something like that. I am neither knowledgeable of much PHP nor privy to the details of the problem.

Unfortunately that is not possible at all. In order to run the program it would require a script running at maximum system capacity with 1.21 gigawatts of power in order to check ALL of the subroutines within the system. I mean, GREAT SCOTT! You're imagining the unthinkable.
I can do stuff

Also, I'd love to help in any way I can, except donations, since I'm tight for money as well.
Better start posting updates because I'm unsticking this.

Oh, I hope your finance goes up.
Well yes, the project is dead. But not completely. And that's all I'm going to say.
oh hey, if you wanted to see what we had done so far here: http://thedeathofhell.com/carrot/
Why not just give the Clock Crew it's own portal?
Quote from: weenie roast;1692475funny you should mention this..
why would that be funny thats not funny at all sarez what are you talking about don't lie sarez stop lying omg sarez you're such a liar that is not funny to mention
