yes, but its just a little dinosaur, that attacks maxwell (the character)
you can summon a bunch of cool mythology crap and iternet stuff like longcat, ceilingcat, O RLY (an owl), roflcopter, rick roll, leeroy jenkins, etc...
so far its blown my mind.

oh, can dragons kill the giant enemy crabs? the crab in world... 3? kicked cthulhu's ass, and the ghost, which I normally use for fights, because afaik nothing can kill it, refused to engage it.
I used the large hadron collider because the situation clearly called for SCIENCE, but the game didn't recognize jacob's ladder, and the tesla coil was tiny and I couldn't turn it on.

I use a jetpack instead of wings, and pterodactyl instead of pegasus.

I guess I'll move this thread to videogames

well it's what I generally use in the game, I killed the crab with wings, a pit and some lasers.

the only thing I dont liek of this game is how they do not allow you to do some stuff without telling you first. in a level I had to get rid of a cow causing a traffic jam and summoned a butcher confidently, but it turns out I cannot kill the cow. dammit.

that level gave me hell. I ended up pushing the traffic backward manually, spawning a segment of road, luring the cow onto it with grass, and then airlifting the road segment, and thus the cow, over the traffic and out of the way.

Let me be more specific. Those are not just generic object archtypes. They are the objects. Each one only has 1-4 stats that change its effect only slightly.

For example, every rope object, from "glue" to "chain (tool)" are all exactly the same apart from length and material used to construct it.

All animals are the same apart from how aggressive they are, how powerful they are, if they can fly, and if they can be mounted.

All weapons are the same apart from their range and damage.

All containers are the same.

All vehicles are the same apart form speed and flight ability.

All equipment is either a useless gimmick or makes you jump higher.

I haven't played the game myself, but I think maybe part of the fun in the game is that you can summon many different things in unusual contexts. I hypothesize that it isn't the strategic usefulness of the variety of objects that makes it interesting, but rather the variety of unusual situations that can be created.

Of course, I haven't played the game, so you should probably take my opinion with a grain of salt.

EDIT: tl;dr: What Slurpee said.

Quote from: Slurpee;1682683who cares?

I summoned a backhoe that couldn't dig. I summoned a mole that wouldn't dig either. "Satan" was no more powerful than an "imp". None of the guns had the unique properties you would expect. Dropping a nail on a dragon repeatedly would kill it. This game didn't even TRY to make any objects unique. If an aspect couldn't fit on one of the archetypes with a few variable changes they just ignored it.

I care because I thought it would be awesome, not a worse 2d version of Gmod.

This is a stupid thing to say because you are basically invalidating your argument all by yourself.

Saying "all animals are the same" and then going on to say "apart from..." and naming like 8 different reasons why they aren't doesn't make much sense. There are a crazy amount of animals in the game, they all have different attributes, its not nearly as linear as you make it sound. I submit a similar argument:

Goldeneye isn't an impressive game because every gun is the same: They all are guns.

The whole point of the game is doing things your own way. Construction items are all differently shaped and you will find yourself using different things for different tasks constantly. What can you expect for them to incorporate that they didn't? It's extremely impressive as it is; a fantastic game with tons of levels and content. Lots of games have items that are 'the same' besides certain stats and attributes... In fact, almost all of them do.
