Aaaannnnddddddd my excitment has dropped quite a bit. I originally thought this was a prequel taking place during the civil war, which was a way more interesting concept. Secondly that's not what altruist means. That's the exact fucking opposite of what altruist means. It seems like the game is trying to be Bioshock 1.5 now rather than a sequel, which I have to admit is somewhat dissapointing. Also amazingly fuckign obvious Elenor is the Big Sister.
Apologies for nerd rant. On the plus side Ary of Two looks neat!
Who is Elenor again?

She was the little sister of the big daddy you play as.

Ahhh i thought it was a character from the original Bioschock or something. Also i assume the good ending is cannon? Which is the case 90% of the time in good or evil ending sequels.
Um, I knew that wasn't what it was. Why did you think it took place during the Civil War? I doubt Art-Deco or large-scale industry was around back then.

I meant the civil war within rapture you dolt. Splicer vs splicer fighting for Adam and Big Daddy's desperately trying to protect their little sisters. Basically Chaos. Im glad i doesn't take place during that though, it would be just that, chaos. I wouldn't have that eerie feel Bioschock had it just be another war game.

Oh shitbiscuits, you're right. Sorry.
Well I knew it was set quite a bit after then, too. After Ryan's dead, the Big Sister had to run shit.

Sounds like an overly atmospheric Halo deathmatch. :P

Nah, I'm willing to bet we never hear from Jack or about subjective events from Bioshock. Like the guy said, he wanted the players choices to be respected.
Although the good ending was the least shit one.
If I don't remember wrong the second is a prequal to the first, it starts before you visit the Rapture in the first game.
No, watch the video, jeez. The ONLINE mode is supposed to take place during the civil war, the single player mode is a sequel.
So it does thake place before civil war? I thought this was a sequel not a prequel

:(
Then they changed it I believe, before they settled on a name I watched one of them tossers talk about the concept and all.
Oh well, that's cool.
What's the deal with Big Sister though?

No, it's a sequel. It takes place in 1970, ten years after the first game.

So the multiplayer is set in 1970? What about the singleplayer?

The single player story is that you're one of the first Big Daddies, and you're going around Rapture after the Big Sister's taken up shop, and it's set in 1970. In the
multiplayer, you apparently play as a Plasmid test subject for Sinclair Solutions. This bit is set during the fall of Rapture.
as long as they provide a real ending this time, i'll be happy.
I already expected it to be a sequel from the first time i saw the teaser sites. It takes place in the 60's if i am not wrong.

'70s. And the multiplayer is set in the '50s.
Big sister is Elanor. Very ver obviously.

Well I still gotta buy the first one, I played the demo some time ago and it's fucking bomb.
EDIT: Mmmmmm I just found a used retail version for 9.50 on Amazon. Seems like a good deal.

Ohh so the single player is a prequel en the multiplayer takes place during the original bioschock?
that's weird

No, the single player is a sequel that takes place in 1970 (you just happen to play as one of the original Big Daddies), and the multiplayer is a prequel that takes place during the collapse of Rapture in the mid-50s.
