Great concept but is spoiled by the unrealisticness of Hit-Girl.

I got free tickets to see an advanced screening of the film and really wanted to go, but gave them to a friend of mine because she was complaining she never got the chance to spend time with her boyfriend anymore. They got there late and the cinema was full so they could trade in their tickets for another movie. They swapped my free Kick-Ass tickets for New Moon.

I have to say I felt like I had a miscarriage.

Dad was laughing his ass off in the skyscrapper scene. I should watch this.

Looks good, but Hit-Girl comes of as a little annoying.

Also, Nick Cage NOT in a leading role? Holy fuck, that hasn't happened for a while.

THE CONCEPT OF THE MOVIE IS ABOUT SUPERHEROES IN THE REAL WORLD WITHOUT ANY SUPERHUMAN POWERS. HIT-GIRL OBVIOUSLY HAS SOME FREAKISHLY INHUMAN REFLEXES. Dickass.

I was in Illustration class and my friend told me about how he was a huge fan of the comics (we were not aware there was a movie coming out, we were just talking about awesome superhero comics) and then I found out about this movie a couple weeks later.

i think it will be explained pretty decently since nic cage was more shocked at her wanting bratz dolls and a puppy than he was at her request for a specific model butterfly knife, in fact he was relieved, i've never read the comics but i assume she's some sort of counter-terrorist little kid.

You still missed the point, SHE HAS SUPERHUMAN REFLEXES, SHE DODGED BULLETS AND THEN RELOADED WHILST HER CLIPS SPUN IN THE AIR, SHE HAS POWERS IN A MOVIE ABOUT HEROS WITHOUT POWERS.

Why does he look like a pubescent Sylvester Stallone in that poster?

Still might be good, though, if it doesn't suffer from Little-Miss-Sunshineitis.

That's not Little-Miss-Sunshineitis. I mean I hope the movie won't be so obvious about how "indie" it is that it's more prominent than the narrative or acting.

What's "Little Miss Sunshine-itis"?
I liked that movie.
EDIT::
Oh.
See, I call that being "a movie like Juno".

She was trained. Just because she's really good at something doesn't mean they are magic super powers ok.

I only saw a clip of Cage shooting the girl and was like "holy shit that's pretty serious for a comedy"

No amount of training can make you run on walls and dodge bullets. Obviously people can do stuff like that in films but this is supposed to be about people without powers and people doing stuff that's impossible in real life, even if they claim it's just from extreme training, is kind of going against the concept. It's also a lot more interesting to see people finding solutions to big dangerous problems in realistic ways rather than resorting to tired Matrix-style moves that everyone's seen before.

Looks enjoyable.

The swearing in the red band trailer is a bit stuck on though. It's just like "OH LOOK A LITTLE GIRL SAID CUNT HAHAHAHA"

Not what I expected from a silly christmas movie called "Kick-Ass" featuring people in brightly coloured tights running around spouting Superbad one-liners.

I don't know when it was expected that this movie was a "silly christmas movie," and I don't think it would matter if you now know what kind of movie it is.

By that I meant I originally thought it was a throwaway comedy out in time for Christmas, meaning I hardly expected Cage to shoot a little girl, and in the clip I saw it only showed him shooting her, so I thought he was some child-killing bad guy.

Quote from: RibsClock;1708559Well to be fair if he's arguing that it's unrealistic then that definitely puts it in that category. It's more Wuxia then, Kung Fu Hustle (faurr xcksumpel) wasn't about people with magical superpowers it was people who had acquired absurd magical superpowers physical abilities through intense kung fu training, but in no way would I call it "realistic".

I think what he ought to be looking for is more along these lines:

I'm interested to see how McLovin is in this movie.  I'm wondering if he breaks type for this movie or if he's doomed to be typecast for the rest of his life.

OOOOH BUT IT'S TOTALLY TRUE

Jonah Hill needs to stop playing his two same characters of "creepy pathetic stalker who tells the main character the backstory" and "angry, crude guy who swears like a sailor".

Michael Cera looks like he might be breaking type with Youth In Revolt.  I mean, from the trailers he didn't stutter and backtrack with all of his lines and his alternate persona breaks the whole "pussy" type altogether, so who knows.

Michael Cera genuinely has great comic timing. I think when he grows up a bit and stops looking like a wimpy teenager he'll start getting some better roles. Jonah Hill most likely won't.
