Title: HELP!!! IM VIRUS'D!!!
Post by: TheClockNessMonster on January 17, 2010, 11:21:58 AM
i need all the help i can get. im on another computer right now so im not using the one that doesnt work. The problem is we have the thing called "INTERNET SECURITY 2010" which isnt real. it tells you that you have a virus so you will buy better software and get rid of it, even though you dont have one. We did a scan with AVG, which got rid of minor things we had in the past, but the INTERNET SECURITY 2010 virus is still there. We then downloaded spyware doctor which found the virus, but told us we had to pay to get rid of it. We then found 1 2 3 spyware free, which got rid of one virus, but now we seem to have a wormhole. So when the page looking like this comes up when we turn the computer on:

(https://clockcrew.net/talk/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.guidebookgallery.org%2Fpics%2Fgui%2Fstartupshutdown%2Flogin%2Fwinxppro.png&hash=36898e0878a4357c8568d14e9b5944c4cb2ab1e8)

we log on, and half a second later it logs us off. we know we are getting it wiped, but im trying to help out by seeing if there is anything we can do. Any help is appreciated.

You should be able to boot into safe mode with networking, right? I would download this tool and use it:

http://www.malwarebytes.org/

If you can't download it from your computer in safe mode with networking, download it on a different computer and put it on a thumb drive.

Or you could also do the same thing with Microsoft Security Essential, which is free:

http://www.microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/

Good luck, mang! {{{}}}

Yeah, you should be able to get in with safe mode. Whatever program they installed that's knocking you off should be disabled when you log in in safe mode. Try hitting F9 (or whatever F key it is on your computer's boot menu) when booting up and go into safe mode.

This happened to me yesterday. My stepfather dealt with it, I'll see if I can get some information out of him.

EDIT: He says to boot it in safe mode and do a system restore. He mumbled something about it not working, but then he repeated it again. He does that sometimes.

One time when I was like 10 we got a virus that kept showing pop-ups to porno sites and I was like "OKAY GUYS I NEED TO BE ALONE WITH THE COMPUTER FOR A WHILE"

Also got a virus like this once, my dad just started the comp up in safe mode, google'd the name of the "anti-virus company" and found out the folder to delete or purge with anti-virus/malware or whatever. I know how you feel vinyl, scary shit man :(

WHY HAS EVERYONE GOT THIS.

Goto Program files, find internet security, right click delete.
Ctrl-Alt-Delete / Control panel, Delete the PCSECURITY.exe process

Download Avast anti-virus, install, restart and get it to scan before complete boot

Easy to remove is easy

Also it's barely a virus it's adware it just slows your computer and gets you to buy useless software.

It's the easiest thing to remove in the world.
