I'm not floored or anything
it's kind of in the same territory as the b-sides from demon days.
maybe a little heavier, but yeah.
it doesn't pop as quick or hard as feel good inc or clint eastwood did, and with lady gaga putting like 6 hooks on a given track, a single has to suck my ear's dick to catch its attention anymore
maybe this is this album's "Rock It" and something else will kick everybody's asses later
edit: or maybe not I guess it's the first single.
either way I'm stoked for the album
might even buy a physical copy
edit2:I just remembered I have a gorillaz avatar. that's silly.
for one thing i dont think this youtube does it justice (quiet and low quality), still it's not that great but ive heard some really shitty first singles so i definitely wont write this off (demon days was cool)
I liked the Gorillaz because their music was interesting but that song was kind of boring. And for a single it is disappointing. Bad idea for them to release their first single from their new album without Damon Albarn singing in it at all. He is the anchor for their sound, at least that's how I feel.
he does sing in this
lol never mind then I didn't listen very closely.
Meh it was okay I guess, but the baddline just got way too repetitive, and with 4 and a half minutes of it, it was starting to drive me up the wall a bit.
Props to them for releasing it though, it's good to see they're still in the music business.
Demon Days was the best also :3

Hmph.Well, I heard it on their official site, and I think it's ok, but I dislike the boring first quarter of the song.
i like this but i like hip hop as apposed to everyone else in the clock crew
I think it's tough to live up to the standard of demon days.
also ha-ha slurpee listens to lady gaga, what is he gay or something

some other gay things I do besides listen to good pop music:
- appreciate poetry and live theatre
- drink highballs
- dance well
- wear clothes that fit
- help straight friends deal with their stupid motherfucking problems
- walk upright

I'd like to stress that these are not exclusively gay things, just rare in the straight male
Oh yeh on topic, I like the beat of this song, and appreciate mos def's verse on it, even if it's a bit hard to hear

yeah, I guess I
could add "perceiving wit" to the list, thanks m8

don't care
love it, i've been listening to kavinsky (http://www.last.fm/music/kavinsky) a lot lately and his style is quite similar to this song.
It's fairly similar to the demos that got leaked over the radio a year or so ago, decent stuff I guess. If anyone wants em I can upload them.
Pretty catchy, Seems like some familiar sounds and I like it. Always said you can't go wrong with Gorillaz!

I didn't dig D-sides too much, hopefully this new release will be more fun.
