This is a "DVR" for the PS3 in Japan called Torne, Europe got something like it in '08 called PlayTV but from what I understand it didn't work well. Where the US did get the 250GB PS3 before Japan they do get everything first why does the US government make it so hard to add simple things like this without a license. Exactly why does this little box need a license to be an add-on. Short of using NTSC/ATSC rather than DVB-T or ISDB-T there really shouldn't be an issue
On another note the new PS3 firmware v3.21 released on April 1st has cut out the ability to install another OS (i.e. Linux) for "security purposes" in other words Sony is still trying to stop homebrewers and people from utilizing the full potential of their system yet again just like they did with the PSP and PSP-Go. I understand people rip games but it is also awesome to check out homebrew games without having to wait for sony to be like "ok we will make that game here's some money"

No the only good sports games are PAL versions and PAL games are exactly like Japans. The US makes them change things so the rating will be lower

The only sports game I really got into was Blitz, and that was just because you could get in like 5 late hits after every play and throw the ball halfway across the field.

The post isn't limited to just gaming there is more to it than that a lot of stuff comes out in europe first and not only that but they get limited edition stuff that we can't get in the US unless we order it from there

Granted, that is the term "moviegoer" but that's also a stupid term and it doesn't apply to people who watch movies, but rather people who went to a movie theater to watch a movie, or when someone is labeling themself, in which case they usually deserve a prompt kick to the testicles. It's a one time deal. You don't call someone who reads books a "novelist" because that's someone who writes books. You can call them a "reader" but, again, that's basically the same deal as the word moviegoer.
We should get rid of the word 'reader' too. Makes them so cool to read something.

Gaming isn't like most hobbies. A lot of people do it, and a lot of people do it WAY TOO MUCH. I think that a significant enough portion of the population is addicted to videogames for it to have its own term.

"bookworm" is a pretty common term in the same vein as gamer.
Really, if you guys want to hate a term I think you should go for something that's ACTUALLY stupid, like the term "hardcore gamer".
EDIT: You guys know the term "gamer" was in common use before the invention of video games to refer to gambling addicts and RPG enthusiasts? People who play games like Dungeons & Dragons and Deadlands and such still commonly refer to people who play RPGs as gamers.
