I dont think I'll ever quite give up on the CC, I'll likely end up staying here till Tom finally pulls the plug.
I guess I am. I do come back here to check how you guys are doing sometimes.

needless to say anyone who voted yes will be permabanned
Quote from: DWARFINATOR;1745985needless to say anyone who voted yes will be permabanned
cue nobody else voting yes in case you're serious
Why would somebody who is over the clock crew still be on the forums to vote on this poll?

my feelings exactly
Quote from: Thor;1745990Why would somebody who is over the clock crew still be on the forums to vote on this poll?
He has a point.
i dont really know what i was trying to achieve here
:idgi:
Quote from: RibsClock;1745992He's not.
I didn't think he was serious, I just thought others might
but now i'm just being finicky
on with the thread
Quote from: GodClock;1745996i dont really know what i was trying to achieve here
Were YOU getting thoughts of being over the clock crew and wanted to ask if anyone else was?
Quote from: BambooClock;1746001Were YOU getting thoughts of being over the clock crew and wanted to ask if anyone else was?
no not really, it was a discussion in the chat about how there's a lack of inspiration among the crew lately
Quote from: GodClock;1746005no not really, it was a discussion in the chat about how there's a lack of inspiration among the crew lately
Ahh. There have been some threads with that sort of topic, and the attitude of "what makes us different? why are we here? for what purpose does being in the clockrew serve?" and whatnot
it's my fault i'm ruining the clock crew by not animating
seriously i'm sorry
Quote from: clammo;1746000and who are you??
He's an older member from the 04-05 period. He was pretty much a douche at the time..
Quote from: Zombie Lincoln;1746012it's my fault i'm ruining the clock crew by not animating

god zl why do you ruin everything
no im jk <3
idk, with the lack of activity, there is also a lack of things to parody. for example: blue zombie, he was a super silly guy and things he said were funny so he was fun to parody
clock crew is just missing that sort of "ha ha"
Quote from: GodClock;1746025with the lack of activity, there is also a lack of things to parody.
Exactly. We need more shit to happen. Remember ThDrk? We made a small flash collab and actually got a few days worth of entertainment from a spammer who we made believe he was taking over CC (or something like that).
Anything would be good, anything we can build off of just enough to make something happen from it; to give people a reason to come back to CC if they ever get bored with it. Counter the loss of appeal by making something happen that everybody is involved in.
Quote from: CadillacClock;1746034Does this mean GodClock and yourself will take some action with those statements? I would hate to think you're both all talk.
i dunno give me ideas on how to bring people back who hate this place and maybe i'll do something about it
Quote from: CadillacClock;1746043I want new blood and creativity, not old. Those who left had their reasons or lost their flavour by the weekend.
But do you really? Anyone new is typically driven away these days, even if they aren't great flash animators right now they really aren't given a chance. What kind of new member do you expect? New members always show up obviously lacking skill but this is a place for learning.
godclock: wut
:wut:
Bring back clockification!
Quote from: CadillacClock;1746058I don't even know where you're going with this but what the hell.
Considering a great deal of my posts go to educating members new and old, a few more wouldn't hurt.
Most of you are also getting your ass kicked in flash output by weenie roast and K3ltr0n and both are relatively new.
Yeah I don't know either, I'm not arguing anything, this is just what I observe.
Quote from: Satellite Clock;1746059Bring back clockification!
Yeah, it gave new clocks a reason to actually make flash and try to suck less.
Quote from: Thor;1746063Yeah, it gave new clocks a reason to actually make flash and try to suck less.
can you think of any clocks who went through the clockification process and continued to make good work afterwards? I think most stopped or left.
Quote from: Zombie Lincoln;1746069can you think of any clocks who went through the clockification process and continued to make good work afterwards? I think most stopped or left.
Yeah, I think having a filter is discouraging especially when nobody ever makes it through. That guy who made life in clocktopia at least did stuff, I don't know what became of him, but he didn't want to steer away from that series for whatever reason. I haven't seen anyone become a real clock in a long time, although I think PopTart deserves to be.
Yeah I was kinda kidding although I did go through the clockification process.
Quote from: Satellite Clock;1746077Yeah I was kinda kidding although I did go through the clockification process.
well dang you are an excellent counter-example
I went through clockification and still produce like a madman. It could be said my stuff isn't high quality but that's just, like, your opinion, man.
Quote from: Golden Clock;1746081The reason why most people with real skill don't stay here is likely because they'd rather not be around idiotic acting teenagers all day but that's just my THEORY
You're mean. People in this thread are mean.
Not really. I still have fun.
I haven't made any flash lately because college keeps me busy as hell, but during the summer I expect to turn out a couple of animations.
Quote from: clammo;1746091i want new members who arent going to turn into godclocks or floundermanclocks or thorclocks or floppydiscclocks or greyclocks or grandfatherclocks or any one of the hundreds of shitty clones who arent even notable enough to remember.
so i guess what im saying is i dont want people like you being the model for what a clock should be/act like.
edit: while you've definitely taken a step back from the "whats the stupidest possible thing i can say/do at this very moment" mentality ever since we had that chat on blast, i still feel like you got a lot of work to do before you can actually be a proper, productive, ideal member of the clock crew.
It's fair you think so but it would help if you outlined what a 'proper productive ideal' member is. Especially considering it'd be pretty rich of you to accuse Godclock of not being it if it turns out you aren't yourself by your own criteria.
Sorry for the accusatory nature of this post, I sure as hell know I'm not the ideal clockcrew member, I just think we should take a look at ourselves before telling other clocks how shit they are

So I guess Strawberryclock was a bad clock then?
EDIT: It sounds like your definition for a good clock is a tightass
i love many members here as much I hate many douchebags that are running the place too.
I am not saying who.
I don't think the naysayers even know what a good clock is, they just like to complain and use their rose-tinted glasses to see a fairytale land of yesteryear.
If I am to take some older members of the crew as example of how to be a good clock, I have to tell younger members than me that they are terrible, yet produce nothing that shows I am not equally terrible besides my tenure in the clockcrew
EDIT: If you truly think some clocks are heading the wrong way, be the change you want to see, and give us a good example to follow
Quote from: clammo;1746101of course its about me even though i never once said i thought i was an ideal member either. it definitely cant have anything to do with the 7 generations of clocks ive watched, definitely never learned a thing or two from the thousands of members that have gone through the clockcrew in 8 years.
That seems fair to me, but as I say, if you think we suck I'd appreciate in the future at some point when it's more convenient for you if you could write up a quick explanation of what a good clock is so we know why we suck so much.
That or just become a perfect clock yourself as an example. Either is fine, otherwise please be so kind and stop moaning as much as you accuse us of moaning (to be fair most of us moan quite a lot)
Quoteits something that has been discussed to a large extent by the staff. changes are coming and a lot of you complainers up there in the last few posts probably arent going to like them, since you think any kind of rule that prohibits you from being as dumb as humanly possible is just some nazi douchebaggy bullshit and not in the best interest of the clockcrew (which it is, the latter i mean)
We'd probably appreciate your efforts more if you didn't treat us like total pricks all the time (refer to you telling us all we are shit).
And yes yes, I understand that we
are total pricks so it's justified blah blah blah. That silly logic aside, it wouldn't hurt to be more humble about all this work you're doing for us behind closed doors. I sure hope it's good when it comes.
Wow, you don't need to mince your words so much Yoyo, your trying way too hard to not be offensive and it sounds goofy.

Nothing wrong with making sure it's kept polite. Sometimes typing how you would speak comes across as inflammatory on the net and I'd rather it not be seen as such
thor you offend me
New clocks get discouraged sure. I bet non of you guys know who I am and I joined 4 years back and have been active for quite a while. I made a good amount of flashes too.
I just keep leaving because I feel like a complete turd when posting here for some reason.
I stopped coming regularly when "what is a true clock?", "what is the clock crew supposed to be?", "how can we become more productive cogs in a flash output machine?" discussions overwhelmingly began to dominate the boards. I still stop by every few months just to see what's going on, since this community really did have an impact on my career choice and hence life in general. However, it doesn't seem worth it to be a regular and participate again given that simply having fun became the community's absolute lowest priority. We were, and still are, like-minded individuals that enjoy making flash cartoons. In my opinion, there is absolutely no reason to be any more than that. Enjoy what you are and to hell with trying to create a utopia.

I know who you are. You're a pretty alright fellow.
Duh, the ideal clock is me. Disillusioned by the way, a long time ago. I think rules and hey you guyz sux cuz you don't put all your time into cartoons is fucking stupid. That's just me though. Although I am nearly 27 and have like bills and a girlfriend and pets and job and all that adult stuff that eats all of my time. I however like to check in and troll to see who's around and who's who. wavy gravy is an admin? Rofl that's awesome.
I rarely animate anymore and don't look at the forums quite as often as I used to, but I'm not going anywhere. I've been here for a fifth of my life, that's way too long to leave. Hell, I'm Albinoclock on nearly every other site I go to. I will say, though, that I'm pretty rapidly shifting toward the "shut the hell up about what the clock crew is supposed to be" camp.
Quote from: Kirk;1746021He's an older member from the 04-05 period. He was pretty much a douche at the time..
Hey I like Farafa. He's a good animator. You, on the other hand, are a tightly packed ball of shit.
Hi I'm the 'new and improved' clock crew. You can have fun, but if you do something I don't like, I will ban you. If you say something which I don't think is funny, I will ban you.
I'm all caught up in politics and bullshit gay ass power. I have eaten all the fun, the clock crew is no longer fun. It's just immature teens posting gay shit to new members and they are all gay and usually shit at art. Also, there are only about 15 members who can ACTUALLY draw here.
Also I'm fucking gay.
Quote from: Flux;1746127I stopped coming regularly when "what is a true clock?", "what is the clock crew supposed to be?", "how can we become more productive cogs in a flash output machine?" discussions overwhelmingly began to dominate the boards. This sounds reasonable.
Also hi again.
Flux has made a pretty good point. Maybe we all need to just lighten up a bit and stop trying to evaluate/justify ourselves? I'm one of the people who has no plans for ever leaving, so there's no reason this place has to be any less awesome than it should be when there's still dedicated people. The cc has always just been a group of people. If everybody came to .cc with the intention of having a laugh, then I wouldn't be able to ask for anything more.
It's way too easy to get caught up in all the political-esque happenings and take things too seriously... like adding to the drama instead of laughing and making a flash about it. or whatever.
lack of activity isn't the problem, it's a lack of effort made towards a sense of humour. generally speaking it's the most important part of real life and also the only reason this place exists or at least imo
even now this post is probably too serious so here's a thing for ya

Quote from: Albino the Destroyer;1746144You, on the other hand, are a tightly packed ball of shit.
The feeling is mutual, trust me. The difference being, I'm not a pompous ass of a person.
Personally, I believe we need to recruit rather then simply bitch about what it is to be a "True Clock". Since when have we ever had that kind of standard? It seems to me that any and all new members are either shunned within the first couple of weeks or are too stupid to figure things out on their own.
This is unfortunate but I believe this to be the case as not only are we declining but other groups are declining as well. This can ultimately be deduced due to the fact that Newgrounds just simply isnt the website it used to be. Thus it isnt quite entirely our fault that we arent exactly thriving at the moment.
Improvements can be made sure, but when it comes down to it, I believe its the declining influx of new coherent members that is hurting us atm. Not some half-baked ideal on what it is to be a "True Clock".
Some quick evidence of this would be an image posted by Piney in Girs thread a few months ago

As most of you can see, we get our highest influx during clockday. This has been steadily declining in the past few years.
The question is, Is the Clock Crew over PatriotClock?
No, I am definitely not over the Clock Crew.
1. Clock will be on my gravestone.
2. We have to stop hating each other.
3. We have to try and start promoting people to actually come here.
Nope, and I don't think I ever will be.
I may be an animefag and you may hate me but I still love you guys nevertheless.
{{{Clockcrew}}}
leekclock is not allowed to vote on this poll
I still think it's caddy and clam's fault
lol this thred is silly now
WHAT HAVE I DONE
You've been a typical omnipotent being, and created something that you would probably later regret.
damn all of these lame powers
I think the reason the clock crew has largely degraded into spam flash is because they're more fun to make than serious business flash.
Quote from: Golden Clock;1746235However, the problem with that argument is that Orange Clock, and Raspberry Clock themselves made high-quality, award-winning Flash along with spam. I believe that many of you guys want a place where you can hang out that's enjoyable and be able to make spam flashes.
I know it's unfair to just take a snipit of a large post like that and attack it, but I'm going to do it anyway because I'm a rebel.
Strawberryclock never made high quality flash, and he is the best clock.
All I want is a place to hang out that's enjoyable and I can create fun to make spam movies for an at least somewhat receptive audience.
QuoteMy desire is that the Clock Crew become a place where people can hang out, learn Flash and other artistic skills, and be able to showcase those skills. A place where not only is spam encouraged, but also of course high-quality flash as well.
The clock crew used to be like this, but over time the people making serious flash got bored and left and the people making spam flash stayed and still produce... once again, the funnest comes into question.
stop being trolled caddy
stop trolling corpsegrinder
as of this post, i (godclock) am trolling
