Help Celebrate 9 Years of Excellence[/size]
It may be a couple of months before Clockday, but so what. I figure it's better to get this started as early as possible so we can get more possible entries and snazzier designs.
As many of you know, Clockday (http://www.clockcrew.cc/clockopedia/clockday) is soon approaching and it will be our 9 year anniversary of running Newgrounds. To celebrate such a day, hundreds upon hundreds of flash movies are submitted to the NG Portal out of love for Strawberry Clock and the Clock Crew. Within these movies, a special preloader is to be present that helps unify us as a whole and a family. Since this is our 9th year, let's try to design a preloader that is 9 times better than anything we've had in the past.
To enter, all you need to do is upload your custom designed preloader to the File Library (http://www.clockcrew.cc/talk/library) and post either a screen shot or the actual preloader (within a .swf file) in this thread.

So I've got this from the NG frontpage banner thing from last year and if someone with actual knowledge of actionscript helped out i think it would make a nice preloader.

There could easily be animation based stuff in there. Just simply have certain %s trigger each animation bit, such as the page turning. So rather than have mc.gotoAndPlay(percentLoaded); have something like
if(percentLoaded>10) {
pageturn.play();
}
with an additional boolean to make sure it only animated once.

even if you restrict the page turns to go one at a time, you're then forcing unnecessary waiting on the viewer.
It really depends how you want the page turn to work, but like say for example it's just a page falling off a wall calendar there's no reason the next page can't start falling whilst the previous one still is. I agree you wouldn't wanna force viewers into waiting longer than necessary to get to the actual movie/game. I'm just saying, depending on your approach you could definitely get something like that working.

that too but it was more a: "the fringe is up on the right so the wind looks like it's coming from the left, but the hair at the back is dragging to the left, making it look like the wind is coming from the right" kind of thing.

I made a CS4 AS3 file but it was too large to upload to the file library. Is there any way that someone can manually put it on or something like that?
If anyone happens to be making a Flash CS3 movie with AS3 then someone else will have to convert that for them. The same goes with anyone using Flash under MX2004.

Can't wait to see what the new preloader is.
There hasn't been a Clock Day preloader that hasn't dissapointed me yet.
ClockDay 2007's preloader was good but I honestly didn't really enjoy that year.
