the way you shaded the midsection gives it the shape of a curved tongue for sure. but its creepy, something about a long strawberry disturbs and fascinates me

The small swirls you used give strawberry a great matte looking finish, very cool. I do agree with Golden though, he looks a 'big long' and could use a bit of truncating to avoid that tonguey look.

I love the shape and I wish more people would stray from the standard strawberry shape. My neighbours grow strawberries and sometimes we get the weirdest shapes ever

While the textured approach is nice, have you thought about simply using a larger brush. That kind of detail can create unreasonable loading times. Also the vertical looking thing isn't doing it for me. Looks like a tongue. Seems like you cheated the green a bit with the lighting. Light is way to symmetrical.

I like the roughness of the outlines. Is there a special setting for that or did you just use really low smoothing? My brush lines look like shit without at least 40 smoothing, I really need to buy a more accurate mouse.

I use the pen tool (lines) for the thin lines.

also I hate the smoothing, I set it to 0 all the time
