Saw it at 10 yesterday and it was awesome.  I was really satisfied with how they ended the series, and I can without wavering say it was better than the first.

Who else saw it and what do you think?

Incredible.  Best one of them all and a great end to the series.

Better than Toy Story 1? Haven't seen it yet but im sure as hell going to now.

I've told people this before, but had they killed the gang in that scene and ended the movie there, I would have stood up and applauded.
If they had the balls to actually do that it'd make movie history.  It'd be amazing.

I knew they wouldn't, but they really took that scene way farther than I expected them too.

All in all, I have to say that Toy Story 3 was the greatest Pixar flick I've seen. The short at the start, I gotta say, was rather clever, utilizing the best and worst of both elements.

It took me the second time around to notice that the garbage collector listening to music is Sid. I was also surprised to see Totoro in the movie as well.

God damn it, I cried at the end of another Toy Story!

This. I was really kind of hoping that they did it, but I knew they wouldn't because aside from the fact that they're obviously not going to kill off main characters in kids movie, it would've left unanswered plot holes because of the bear.

I honestly thought that they were going cut to some kid playing with the toys, like in the beginning of the movie.

Loved this movie, I almost cried during a couple of parts.

I still think the first one is the best on every level and is the only one I'd give a 100/100 points to, the second one I'd give probably a 87/100, it was good but didn't awe. 3, I'd give 99/100.

It was fucking great, I cried all through it, including the first cartoon. When the sun's rising in one and falling in the other, and then they hug, oh yeah, I deffintly cried  then the end, when Andy is fucking setting up all the toys for the girl and talking about each one, and then drives away, and the little girl makes woody wave goodbye, and he falters a little. Ouch, this movie was clearly made for my generation and to help us say good bye to the first part of our lives. AWESOME FUCKING MOVIE.

Finally got around to seeing this movie.

The first Toy Story was the first movie I remember seeing in theaters, and I went off to college last year, so I guess this movie had some emotional impact for me. Loved the ending, it was a good way to close the series.

I totally lost it when The girl makes Woody wave goodbye to Andy

Up to that there were a few times my eyes watered up but good GOD that was just over the top. Pixar reminded me why I love them, and because of this movie well.. I might take out the old toys tomorrow.

I went home, and looked for all of my childhood toys I still had laying around, rounded them up, and they are now on my shelf where my High School Diploma used to be.

A freakin' good movie, to be sure.

Finally watched it today. I think my heart is made of rubble and boulders because I didn't cry, but I did feel like it was twisting inside me.

Pixar really made it in the scene were they were slowly going down to the incinerator believable. I really thought it was the clear end of the toys.

Very little trilogies conclude this great.

Just saw it in it's first showing in my city. I cried at the end :(
The young Andy montage at the start and the end where Andy explains the toys to Bonnie were the most emotional parts for me :(

The similar dialogue in the opening bit to the openeing of TS1 and the final shot in the film being the clouds which are the same as andy's old wallpaper in TS1, that did it for me

11 years. 11 years is a long time to wait for this movie. But boy was it worth the wait. Not only was it a flawless movie, it is one of Pixar's best to date. It has a sense of maturity and melancholy with the theme of growing up and having to move on. It also, very well done, showed that imagination is the best thing about being young.

Finally got around to seeing this today. Yes, I cried for a good 3/4ths of the movie. I swear Pixar's made me a softy. The whole beginning montage with Andy gradually growing up and what not had me in tears. As well as that incinerator part. Tip of the hat to Pixar on this one. They really know how to make their audience feel some connection to their characters.


Also, Lotso isn't the villain in this movie. It's really Andy's mom. She's the one that wanted to get rid of those toys!.

I liked Toy Story 3, and I don't want to piss on everyone's parade but I really didn't think it was that good.

The whole middle section of the film suffered because there was no real threat established in the day care. They showed that it was a crappy place to be and that Lotso was nuts and evil and everything but they never had him actively destroying a toy, just chucking them in the sandbox, a punishment that they didn't even show as being that terrible. Why is the rough treatment the toys receive from the bad guys any worse than the treatment they receive from the innocent toddlers? It would work for most films but when you're dealing with characters who've already been established as being essentially immortal you need to make the threat a lot more permanent.

Really they should have brought along an extra toy from the house who didn't matter too much and then have Lotso or one of his cronies smash him up a bit and leave him out to get taken to the trash. That would have really hit home and made the whole escape seem a lot more dangerous.

I also wasn't too keen on the amount of space ranger Buzz and spanish Buzz. As funny as they were as ideas, they cheapened the characters, working more as punchline jokes than the smart conversational comedy Buzz was used for in Toy Story 1.

Once they were out of the day care, everything became pretty great again. The dump scene was great although Lotso's betrayal and comeuppance again suffered from his lack of outright evilness and the furnace scene really was perfect.

The sections of the film that worked the best for me though were the parts with Andy and his family. They were by-far the most real, I suppose because they're things that all the writers could directly relate to, whereas the escape story was more of a typical movie subject. Virtually everything Andy did was captured perfectly and the moment between Andy and his mum acted as the perfect realisation point for Woody and was really lovely.

The ending was great too although it was a real shame that Andy went on for so damn long about each and every one of his toys I know it was a final send off and everything but it really started to get unrealistic. Sure have him say all their names or whatever but surely a real teenager wouldn't explain all of his toys in such detail, just the awesome ones like Buzz and the special ones like Woody. It seemed a bit unnecessary to me. The scenes of him playing with Bonnie were a lot more touching and did more for me than any amount of emotional chatter. I guess the Pixar staff just didn't want to let the toys go either.

Still, I enjoyed Toy Story 3 a lot. I just think to deny there are some pretty big problems with it is just a bit naive. I didn't let it ruin it for me because I knew their heart was in the right place but I couldn't help but tune out a bit in the middle. That's just what happens when a story isn't told perfectly.
