D:
Sorry but that is almost as bad as someone telling you to move the truck with a level 100 machamp to get mew.
If it was real, there would have been a ROM out there.
cool I would like to play that game
Quote from: AstronautClock;1772400cool I would like to play that game
yeah it is almost less pointless than a real pokemon game!

So many hours of my childhood wasted :(

What was the use of that truck btw, I've been there multiple times.
But it couldn't be there for no reason.
Reading that with the Lavender music was pretty nice.
It's a pretty cool idea even if it is fake. It'd be suprisingly deep for a Gameboy hack.
This kind of stuff is the only things I enjoy out of 4chan.
Case in point: http://x.datchan.org/index.php?title=Super_Mario_64
Good read. Nice shortstory.
Video game creepy stories are now my favorite thing ever.
What happened when he just didn't choose ghost as his starter?
Quote from: Clay Puffington;1772419What happened when he just didn't choose ghost as his starter?
I thought of this too, but if you read closely, it says that you had the starter
and ghost.

entertainment value is the only point of these games and I would be entertained

I don't think it had one. I'm guessing they had the sprite but never used it, so they decided to put it in the game somewhere for no reason. And our silly 10 year old minds insisted it was somehow signfigant.

fuck, these things are creepy as shit but I can't stop reading them :(
I prefer non-videogame related creepy stories, because the people who write these videogame stories are dumbasses who don't know anything about videogame programming and hacking and usually reveal the story as obviously fake by the second sentence, ruining suspension of disbelief. I mean, they're obviously trying to slowly increase the strangeness and impossibility slowly over time, but their ignorance causes them to lay it all out at the start.

Yeah I know how you feel, the pokemon one just seemed silly to me. That mario one was pretty fucked up though. You just have to try to suspend your disbelief.
I like this website. It's best if you read it in a marathon as it slowly creates a fictional universe that can really suck you in. The individual stories are kind of hit or miss though.

THEN U ARE A LONELY OLD MAN THEN YOU COMPLETE THE CYCLE THEN YOU ARE JUDGED FOR YOUR PAST ANS THEN YOU SUFFER
A lot of these stories just play on common human/childhood fears, although they are fairly effective.

U ARE CONSUMED BY THE CIRCLE OF DEATH AAAA GHOST KILLS U AND U CANT DO NOTHING ABOUT IT
Yeah it's pretty much attempting to whip up the fear of death in some of us. The Lavender Town music adds to it too.

It seemed possible untill the picture of his family.

hahahahahahahahah

Yeah SCP's kind of cool.

The "faint voice whispering in japanese" part was completely unnecessary and more importantly impossible. That was only the second paragraph. Second, if this guy knew anything about mario he would know that none of the doors but the bomb-bomb battlefield are SUPPOSED to open when you start a new game.
Then he brought luigi into it

The japanese voice and Luigi could have been modded in the game.
I like scary video game stuff that happens in real life. When I was young playing pokemon red I caught missingno and put him in bill's pc or whatever. Suddenly random music started playing and all of the menus were distorted. It was a little freaky for me since I was so young and I really connected with that game.

The only thing of that nature that still freaks me out to this day is when a game freezes and the last note(s) of the music last forever.
Just something unnerving about it.
Also, here's a creepy video of a real bootleg

I just read the squidward suicide thing it it was pretty disturbing, mostly because of the things it made to picture in your mind though.
The Candle Cove story is awesome.

Squidward's Suicide was not scary.
I read a creepypasta about Edd from "Ed Edd n' Eddy" going apeshit and killing everyone in the Cul De Sac.
I've just realised that the characters from Ed, Edd and Eddy fit nearlly perfectly into the roles of Of Mice and Men characters.
Quote from: UshankaClock;1772726Squidward's Suicide was not scary.
It's not scary, just the pictures it puts into your mind is kind of disturbing.
Also, who's read smile.jpg?

I did just now, and it was really dumb.
The picture looks like a crudely photoshopped demented dog.EDIT: Okay I saw another version of the picture and it's kinda scary. But that's it.
Thanks topic, I just discovered Marble Hornets
Just finished reading both Pokemon Black and that hack thing. Cool stuff.

I imagine those fears are caused by much simpler reasons. When we are adults we fear war, mad men, poverty, hunger and other things. Once we were children, one of the only present unexplainable mysteries was death. And thinking of just death itself without causes or consequences is plain fucking insane.
Children are wise.

This is kind of what I imagined by watching some Game Over screens in SNES games. None was this graphical of course, but I remember arranging odd pictures like these in the Donkey Kong Country series game over screens.
Is this the Creepypasta/weird shit thread? no?, ok just gonna drop these here hope that's ok

QuoteMember Jedusable posted a history in Creepy+Pasta, it starts with a mysterious shopkeeper and a strange cartridge - "It was a normal gray cartridge, but someone wrote Majora on it with a sharpie" -
the cartridge was gifted to him and he could play it without a trouble, but the only notable "Glitch" was that the NPCs called him BEN.
But after triggering the fourth day glitch (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HW6NkTOZEdE), a good number of events started to happen
oh god, that's brilliant
That zelda stuff is about as scary as watching a guy screw around in GMOD
God, creepypasta is the best thing in the world.

I'll never know if those mm videos would have creeped me out because the textures are so clean I know it's not an n64 running them and my immersion's immediately destroyed.
Quote from: SheepClock;1784109link please
I remember that one, it wasn't exactly scary but it was totally _AWESOME_
Going back to the topic, that was an excellent read and I would love to find that game. Bootleg's and hacks always had that bit of mystery in them because there are no information sources for them like serebii.net or other site's are for original pokemon games.
A site like this I read from time to time is trsrockin.com. It has a lot of nice/scary/creepy hacks from pokemon and other games in it.
Computer programs experiencing errors aren't scary even if they are happening in a particular program you enjoyed during your childhood.
Quote from: SheepClock;1784109link please
I can't find it right now :/ I'll look around and get back to you.
I went looking for the edd one and all I found was this hilarious thing about how the show takes place in a purgatory for children that died there in different eras
Quote from: Slurpee;1784310I went looking for the edd one and all I found was this hilarious thing about how the show takes place in a purgatory for children that died there in different eras
Ah I remember that one.
There's a lot of stuff like that for kids shows. There's a pretty popular theory that Fosters Home takes place in the mind of an insane Frankie

Oh, my friend told me about that one. Sounds pretty reasonable actually.

Except in one episode you see the arms of some of their parents and in the movie you see Eddy's brother

that's just because people saw the st. elsewhere parody without understanding that it was a st. elsewhere parody

I was watching Courage The Cowardly Dog (One of my top three animated shows ever! :fifen:) I remembered there was one around Freaky Fred's girlfriend, where she was raped and killed by him. Can't seem to find it though.
