Title: HOMESTUCK-QUESTIONS.
Post by: BilliardBall10 on August 18, 2011, 03:26:18 PM
hmm... so, when i was watching my clocktopia.net avy, i noticed some wierd monster-chick, with a bb10 hat, so i asked, and found out, it was:

here:
but that avatar is a depiction of Sawbuck, a character from Homestuck. Homestuck (http://www.mspaintadventures.com) is this webcomic thing that everybody in the clock crew likes. Sawbuck is a member of The Felt (http://mspaintadventures.wikia.com/wiki/Felt), a gang of billiards-themed thugs with time-altering powers.

so, yeah, that's what that's all about.

but, what is the story of it? can you help?
and who draw my avi there?
help me solve that mystery, plz!
Title: HOMESTUCK-QUESTIONS.
Post by: Slurpee on August 18, 2011, 03:58:24 PM
whoever told you that told you everything you need to know
homestuck is too complicated to summarize

this was the author's attempt (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=003574):
QuoteHomestuck began (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=001901) on April 13th, 2009, the 13th birthday of our chief protagonist and future boy-skylark (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002781), John Egbert (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=001903). Three days prior (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=001922) was supposed to be the day he received the Sburb Beta (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=5) in the mail, but it was running late. It showed up later that afternoon (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=001986), and after overcoming a variety (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=001990) of domestic adversities (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=001992), he retrieved the game (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002000), along with a birthday package (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=001999) from his internet friend, Dave Strider (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002211).

John soon established a game connection (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002036) with another friend, Rose Lalonde (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002116), who'd spent the day badgering him (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002035) about playing with her, after unsuccessfully attempting to convince Dave (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=001935) to play. Upon connecting (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002037), Rose was able to manipulate John's environment (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002039), move his furniture around via cursor (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002063), and restructure the shape of his room (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002048). John was unable (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002053) to do this to Rose's environment however. He'd installed the client copy of the beta, and required the server copy for that.

The server copy (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=001985) was trapped in his dad's car, along with a birthday package (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=003456) from another friend, Jade Harley (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002668). Jade messaged (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002069) John inquiring about the package. As of this moment, neither her package nor the server copy has been recovered by John (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002408). Rose had also prepared a package (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002989) for John, but had not mailed it yet. It still sits in her room. Dave's package (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002032) contained the authentic stuffed bunny (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002304) from Con Air (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=003501).

In addition to allowing Rose to control John's environment, Sburb provided an array of devices (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002051) Rose deployed (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002056) throughout (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002057) John's house. These devices (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002427) used together provided a system (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002517) by which the players could manufacture any item (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002525) using the code (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002423) on the back of that item's captchalogue card, if they gathered enough grist to pay for it. Later, they would learn to combine item codes (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002534) to master the art (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002952) of punch card alchemy, whereby items could be fused together in purpose (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002956) and design (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002955).

One device on being activated (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002076) began a countdown (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002078), and released (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002077) an entity called a kernelsprite. The countdown ticked down to the moment John's house would be struck by a meteor (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002096), destroying his neighborhood. To escape this demise, John had to use the devices (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002081) to manufacture (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002105) a special item (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002110) that looked like a blue apple (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002145), and take a bite (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002146) of it, in order to transport (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002150) his entire house just before impact to the safety of a mysterious dark realm, where his house would situate itself atop a tall rock column high above a blanket of clouds. This realm is called the Medium.

Before he entered the Medium though, John and Rose prototyped (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002085) his kernelsprite with the large harlequin doll his dad got him for his birthday, transforming (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002086) the sprite to bear its likeness, including the ways the doll was disfigured via earlier hijinks. It had a slashed eye and one arm, and so too did the sprite. When John entered the Medium, the sprite's kernel hatched (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002151), thus imbuing all the enemies John and his friends would face with properties of the sprite. The lesser adversaries John faced first, Shale Imps (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002293), all wore harlequin garbs. They became more powerful and more radically mutated with each successive pre-Medium prototyping.

After entering the Medium (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002150), John's dad was kidnapped by imps (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002321). While John was looking for him, he accidentally prototyped the sprite (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002181) with his grandmother's ashes, transforming it again. This prototyping had no effect on the enemies (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002287), since he was already in the Medium, and the kernel had already hatched. Instead, only the sprite was affected, and it took on the appearance, personality, and memories of his grandmother, becoming Nannasprite (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002184), a game-supplied albeit customized guide for John. She explained aspects of the game (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002320), about Skaia (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002322) residing at the center of the Medium, beyond seven gates floating directly above his house, and about an eternal/timeless war (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002323) fought there between dark and light, one that light was always destined to lose (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002324).

Rose, who'd been having frequent internet connection issues (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002073), lost her connection (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002190) as she tried to lift John's car to retrieve the game and the package. The car fell into the abyss below (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002191). A storm (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002114) caused her house to lose power along with its wireless internet connection. Her laptop was able to run on battery power for a time, while she tapped into the wireless signal (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002139) from the laboratory next door (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002886). When her laptop ran out of power (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002195), she had to overcome more family strife (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002288) (and endure a gift pony (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002290) in the process), go outside in the rain (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002207), and plug it into the small generator (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002313) outside the mausoleum (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002312) of her dead cat, Jaspers (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002829). She continued her session (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002315) with John inside the mausoleum, while the meteor-sparked forest fire surrounding her house grew more intense.

From the house, Rose's mom opened (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002657) a secret passage in the mausoleum to help her escape. The passage (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002740) lead to the lab (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002747) next door,  where Rose found (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002766) a stable, portable source of power and internet for her computer. She also found a terminal (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002774) projecting the impact times and locations for the millions of meteors presently bombarding the planet, along with all the other live sessions of other players around the world. She also found a little girl's room, (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002805) a mutant kitten (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002807) she named Vodka Mutini, (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002902) and a cloning machine (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002833) operating through the science of ectobiology (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002834). Its terminal was locked (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002829) on to her cat Jaspers at whatever point in his life (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002838) the user specified.

She attempted to appearify (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002831) Jaspers from a moment in her early childhood, before he whispered a secret (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002835) to her. But doing so would have caused a paradox, so it appearified (paradoxified) (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002832) a pile of slime instead. The machine used the slime to create a fetal paradox clone (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002834) of Jaspers in a glass tube. On the monitor, Jaspers then told young Rose the secret, then vanished (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002836), only to show up (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002837) dead weeks later and put in the mausoleum (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002838) for years until the present. Rose left (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002841) the laboratory moments before it was destroyed by a meteor impact. (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002887) She transportalized (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002885) back to her mom's room, proceeded to her room to wait for Dave to connect (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=003048) with her and rescue her from the next imminent impact.

Dave was charged (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002194) with acquiring his bro's copy of the game to help Rose. Earlier he had lost his copy of the game to a mishap involving a crow. It flew in his window, seized the game (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002253), and Dave accidentally impaled it (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002255) with a sword, sending the crow and the game out the window onto a landing far below (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002344) his apartment. He searched his bro's room (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002510) unable to find it, was briefly shadowed by Lil Cal (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002363), and then found a note (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002512) beckoning him to meet on the roof (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002565) for a confrontation (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002736). Dave and his bro dueled on the roof extensively (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002771), and Dave was thoroughly bested (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002970). Upon defeating Dave, his bro dropped the copies of the game (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002971), and flew off on his rocket board into the sky.

Dave used the copies to connect with Rose (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=003048), and quickly deployed the devices (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=003049) while her house was on fire, surrounded by flaming tornadoes, and minutes away from being destroyed by a meteor. Rose prototyped her kernelsprite with Jaspers, specifically to understand the meaning of the secret he whispered to her years ago. She was advised to do this by Jade, who told her (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002738) about the game in the first place (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002342). Dave then prototyped the kernelsprite again with the tentacled princess doll (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002263) given to Rose on her birthday by her mom. Both of these prototypings would have an effect on the enemies (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=003482) once Rose entered the Medium and the kernel hatched. Rose used the alchemiter to create the special item - for her, a purple wine bottle - which she needed to break to enter. She eventually did, transporting her house just before the meteor collided.

The meteor (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002775) left a crater (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=003049). Over time, at the site of impact, a large, white structure that looked like a wine bottle grew there, and the crater filled up with sand as the climate of the post-apocalyptic Earth gradually changed. The "cork" (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002657) of that bottle was a large metal cylinder (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002627) with an interior much like an advanced science station, with a variety (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002633) of devices (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002569) and monitors (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002605) inside. 413 years after the meteor impact, the Wayward Vagabond (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002566) walked through the desert (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002148) and discovered (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002171) this station. Inside (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/storyfiles/hs2/waywardvagabond/anunsealedtunnel/), he found (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002608) canned rations (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002581), a firefly (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002594) he named Serenity (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002650), an appearifier (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002636), and four monitors (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002605) hooked up to a keyboard (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002339).

On one of the monitors was John, just after he'd entered the Medium. WV could type commands (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002339) to John directly, much as the readers of this story could type commands for the characters to follow. Most of John's actions (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002153) upon entering the Medium were authored by WV (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002335), until he became preoccupied with other activities (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002610), such as building a town (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002585) out of cans, playing chess with cans (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002621), and drawing chalk murals depicting the cosmological arrangement of Skaia, the Medium, the light and dark planets known as Prospit (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002602) and Derse (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002604), and the four planets (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002603) the kids would each occupy upon entering the game, called The Land of Wind and Shade (John) (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=003052), The Land of Light and Rain (Rose) (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=003330), the Land of Heat and Clockwork (Dave) (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=003545), and Jade's planet, which is yet to be seen.

WHOOPS IF I POST THE ENTIRE THING I GO OVER THE CHARACTER LIMIT THAT I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW WE HAD
and that was just the first year.
there's two more of those, with a fourth one fast approaching

you can read it yourself (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=001901), but it's a huge timesink.
at this point it probably takes cumulative days if not weeks to read it all.

as for the picture, who knows?
homestuck has more fanart than most webcomics have content
unless somebody has seen that particular picture before, you're looking for a needle in a haystack. and even then finding the original author might be impossible, because a disproportionate number of fanartists are anonymous.
I tried reverse imagesearching it, but didn't get any results, which probably means it's cropped, and I'm not going to go looking for erotic genderswapped felt fanart

i know, i was just curious who made it. thanks for the info.

also, genderswap?

you mean that ''felt'' charcater, was a man?
dude.

also, when i saved the pic (out of curiocity) i got this, as filename:
419571_-_Homestuck_MS_Paint_Adventures_Rule_63_Sawbuck_Shrimpboat_The_Felt
-BTW, my profile, with the said pic: http://clocktopia.net/member.php?u=176 bob

-therefore, it was done in some ''MS-piant adventures'' ,ergo, a CC-related art contest/drawing forum.
or at least in the Open-Canvas program, or something of the like.stil-l...
l, the name, ''MS-piant-adventures, reminds me/bring to mind some of the art-duels, clocks had in one -drawing site, and the use of tablet narrows it down for me.

so, in shorts: it may be a clock whp did it, and on OC, with a tablet.
or not.

seems interesting how many ppl like homestuck, tho.

you're completely fapping to this and not even ironically but whatever.

yes it was a man
no, mspaintadventures has nothing to do with us other than the fact that some of us like it
afaik none of us have even drawn mspa fanart

that's a paheal filename, though
not sure if it's legally sound to be linking you to this considering you type like a 4 year old, but here
http://rule34.paheal.net/post/view/419571 nws
I found the source and, as I so presciently noted, the original artist is some untraceable anonymous toolbucket

you're welcome
