I'm not expecting much. Will probably just be a generic beat-em-up.

SUDA 51 made a kick-ass game about a hipster who buys a lightsaber, i have no doubt he can make something cool about a cheerleader with a chainsaw.

I'm a big fan of Suda and Grasshopper games but I think they're starting to lose their touch with the newer games. This looks pretty dumb, and so did Shadows of the Damned (although I didn't play it).

I really want to play that cause it has the music guy from Silent Hill, the guy who made Resident Evil, and the guy who runs Suda.

Doesn't look as creatively ambitious as NMH or SotD, I'll give you that.

Suda has been trying to make more "mainstream" games amd put away the cult followed scene for a bit. Grasshopper Manufacture has not refused to limit itself in creative broads, though. They are kind of like a japanese Double Fine now working on multiple projects.

ugh why did I click that thread

How could anyone get a boner from Bayonetta, she's the goddamn uncanny valley put into a slutty costume. TINY HEAD.

The main difference between this and Bayonetta is that Bayonetta had solid and somewhat challenging gameplay with a cool combo system using a wide array of weapon combination, and had an interesting (albeit not entirely original) plot in which angels and an allegory for the catholic church are the primary antagonists. I highly doubt Lollipop Chainsaw is going to have good gameplay, a good combo system, many weapons (probably only chiansaws), a good story (in fact this is impossible because they're using zombies), or interesting antagonists. These games are so radically different in quality that they're not really comparable

Whoa whoa whoa Travis Touchdown was not a hipster Travis Touchdown was a nerdy anime superfan who was a complete loser who trained with a luchador samurai to be good with a sword.

Don't you dare call Travis Touchdown a hipster.

Don't you dare.

That looks pretty fun, but i don't really feel like buying it. MAYBE i'll rent it, just maybe.

Quote from: Uncle Toni;1842536See like I said, the game will be terrible.

I dont see the harm in mindless action games. I'm still playing Earth defense force, even though it's got shit to work with, but works because of it's decent controls and massive waves of enemies.

I love Suda 51 so I have high hopes there's more to the game than what we're seeing right now.

i agree

gameplay looks really outdated and the whole premise of the game is stupid

for some reason it reminded me of that movie "Sucker Punch"

I was almost interested until zombies showed up. Are we seriously not done with zombies yet?

Also: Her secret should have been something that made her change physically so you got a sexy/non-sexy conflict. That would have made her a worthwhile character.

the reason should be pretty obvious, man.

Quote from: Uncle Toni;1842763I swear this is the generation of "use-monsters-to-death"

Frankly the generation of use everything to death.

it's because of youtube.

an ultra-powerful new strain of nostalgia has been born.

I don't mind monsters so much, although I do see them being used quite a bit nowadays.

But monsters make for videogames with variety so I don't care if they have them or not because it's a plot device that let's them make cool enemies to fight.

Of course if the gameplay looks shitty it makes the point of having a good monster to fight useless, so whatever. I wanna see how the gameplay is.

I loved No More Heroes 1 and 2 (2 was much much much better) but the swordfighting was repetitive but at the same time had the possibility to be deceptively deep (in one it wasn't, in 2 it was).

Monsters are great. I don't think anyone's anti-monster. The problem is when one monster (i.e. zombies) gets used over and over again instead of designers inventing their own monsters or picking another monster from the vast buffet of monsters on offer.

I understand that completely. Demon Souls has dragons, zombies, flying shit, skeletons, jellyfish and all that fun stuff too but it's done so logically in character design and level design that it makes sense and also is creative in how cohesive it makes the world make. It's done right and improves the game's atmosphere immensely.

What I'm saying is I don't know how much of the game we're seeing here, and given Suda 51's track record I have a hard time seeing this not being subvertive (I'm making that word up now) in someway like the company's track record usually has.

I've also been tricked by gameplay videos before and this is a genre of game they've made before, I wanna see if there's more depth to the combat than what we're seeing.

I mean, yeah, fuck me for being hopeful.
