:siren: This is not a production thread, it's an interest check. :siren:
Do not request parts, do not ask for dimensions, do not start animating.
Okay here's the idea: instead of all animating to different chunks of a piece of music, we animate to an audio track I made based on a youtube montage of bad video game voice acting (//www.youtube.com/watch?v=VRhDmUzWuBI) and a handful of songs and movie scores and shit. You can hear the track I cooked up below.
[FLASH=http://files.myfrogbag.com/8xu8snn0tggygnz/potcc.swf]height=360 width=640[/FLASH]
(I'm open to suggestions on changes- I still have the non-compiled Audacity file. Or you could make an entirely new, better track, that would serve the same purpose. No, seriously, feel free; I have no pride.)
It's loosely divided into 50 parts- obviously I don't expect 50 different collaborators, but I was thinking we could make all the pieces available separately and everybody would be free to grab multiple parts and tie them together or not tie them together however they want.
It would not be a video game collab- the source audio is supposed to be incidental. (I'm considering removing the Resident Evil, Zelda and Megaman clips because they're distractingly associated with the source material.) The feel I'd like to go for is an overblown and underacted version of big budget tv spots and movie trailers, followed by some manner of yet-to-be-determined anticlimax (possibly mimicking Knottsberry's Scandal! Part 4 (http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/41320)).
So, think about it. Maybe you want to animate some senseless helicopter explosions, or gunfights, or SteakClock battling Tropzilla in a ravaged city. Maybe part 33 really reminds you of Dodger and you have a fat joke to make, or part 37 sounds so much like a robot you just have to see Radiotube in there. I'd like to see some consistency with the characters- not have SBC in 5 completely disparate roles, so if the collab goes into production, it'd be cool if everybody said what they were planning to do when they request parts. But consistency would also be second to raw expression. Above all I just want it to be stupid- just stupid in a good way.
I'm open to somebody producing a better audio track than mine, or the framing devices (the scenes that open and close the collab, preloader, etc.) but if not, I can handle it.
:siren: This is not a production thread, it's an interest check. :siren:
Do not request parts, do not ask for dimensions, do not start animating.
If there isn't enough interest I am not going to pursue this; it'll just go on the backburner with a thousand other SlurpeeClock Productions.
So.
Let me know what you think and if you have any ideas, or if you would be open to volunteer for the framing devices or participating should it go into production. <3
I'd be up for it, but it would be nice if the music was a bit quieter.
Heck yes.
I like what I hear and the parts are so short even I might animate one. :o
Seems cool. I'd participate.
yes this is different
yes i want in

huh
If we do this, I call number 2.
Butter cource im intrested
I'd make a part. Maybe a few.
I like it. I'm interested.
lol wut r the dimenshuns
I'd do a few of these, fo' sho'. I know we're not supposed to request parts, but I totes got my eye on at least one.
Totally up for this but the music doesn't really fit well and is way too loud.
Also there should be an extra part at the end, something like, "now on episode three of the clock crew" then just like some boring half second clip or something then a load of credits should just roll for like 5 minutes.

I like this idea.
Also, I vote we use the Dexter music they play during the "previously on" segments.
You know, this song.

If we're allowed to use our own music you better goddamn believe I'm gonna use this.
This looks interesting. I would give it a go.
I like the music, also these pieces are short enough that I'd totally do one or do.
I am definitely interested in this.
This would definitely be awesome if
1) someone actually voiced the "Previously on The Clock Crew" in that voice
2)the music was a bit more primetime cable tv
but I suppose that'd all be considered since this is all theoretical
edit: just got the weirdest déjàvu... did you ever post this thread before?
Quote from: SockpuppetClock;1865127edit: just got the weirdest déjàvu... did you ever post this thread before?
All the voices come from this one youtube video that's been posted before, so probably that.
i like the music
Okay, I'm a little tired for this, so this will be a low content post, but I don't want to leave you guys hanging.
I'll recut the music when I have a minute to remove the parts I talked about (sorry if anybody wanted them but they've really started to bug the crap out of me) and space out the cuts a little better. I'll produce a couple alternate soundtracks, one with quieter music, and we can have a discussion/vote about which we like best (feel free to take a crack at it as well, if you want. I'm not very experienced with sound mixing tbqh.), and, once that's all squared away, I'll launch the collab in a new thread.
Don't fret, I'll try to move it all along at a reasonable clip.
And yes, the ending part that Sinister mentioned is definitely part of the plan.
I hope you take suggestions cause I thought Lilys - The Way Snowflakes Fall (http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/1315892686) (gets better about a minute in and onward) would make an intense previously on segment, especially when I listened to it with the voice acting video
i am interest

Supporting this
fuck fuck fuck I'm on this I swear
this week has been bonkers
haha i'd definitely do a part or two for this. great fun.
bmup
I quieted the music down slightly and removed the parts I wanted to remove
it's almost identical to the one in the op
there was a slight hiccup and one of the characters shouts the end of one of his lines I'll fix that but it's not a big enough deal for me to reopen audacity right now
I tried mixing in the lilys song and the dexter one
but the lilys one is constantly rising in volume and it's either inaudible for like half of it or way too loud by the end of it
and the dexter one's only about a minute long. I tried looping it, and tbqh I just thought the effect was pretty underwhelming.
the thing is, the voice samples go for a full 5 minutes- it's not really close to what you'd actually see on cable tv, and without the sweeping scores the track feels kind of naked.
the track as it is feels pretty close to the best I can manage
nnnnnnobody else has volunteered to fuck with the music.
I can e-mail the raw voices if somebody else wants to take a crack at adding a score (I don't have an mp3 host), but I'd like to get started, so if there's no alternatives presented by monday I'll probably just go ahead with this one.also
Quote from: SockpuppetClock;18651271) someone actually voiced the "Previously on The Clock Crew" in that voice
I gave this a shot but idk
my voice acting talent is basically my ordinary nerdy voice only deeper, a lateral lisp, solid snake, or ronald reagan.
I don't know who the crew voice actors are offhand but if somebody wants to ask one of them that'd probably be better

but if not here's a minipoll

ok bye
this is an INTERESTING idea, and quite fun at that, tho, i may suggest, for our interest/ notoriety, we should
add clocks in each part be dressed/in a situation, like the video-game voice-clip describes.
for example:
in part were link talks about ''adventure'', we could add rupee-clock with a hat beeing chasing around locks.
or,
in the resident evil part, we could add biggs(or zombie lincoln) shooting zombies.(i know thi seems wrong, but i just throw an idea.)
or, miraclefruit blowing up zombie's brains.
also, i LOVE the background music. what track is it from?
SLURPEE!!! use the voice 2, or voice 3(BEST!!) did you do it? was it yours?
also, voice 5 was v. good.
need any voice-actors? i can help.

As a guideline, I'd actually recommend nobody draw any conspicuous allusions to the source material. I won't stop anybody, but it seems to me that it would be distracting from the intended tone. These collaborations tend to get pretty schizophrenic as it is.
Quote from: BilliardBall10;1869211also, i LOVE the background music. what track is it from?
It's a suite composed of the
Metal Gear Solid 2 alert theme,
E.S. Posthumus' "Pompeii",
the Broken Arrow theme,
the Crimson Tide theme, and
"Fire Truck Chase" from the Con Air soundtrack.

Yes, those were all me, but we're probably not going to be using any of mine going forward. Minipoll results currently seem to suggest I seek alternatives.
I'll probably PM Poptart and whoever else has voice acting chops, and we can vote for which one to use once I start the thread up. You can feel free to offer your services. The introduction is the only voice acting we'll be requiring.
I could take a crack at the "Previously on the Clock Crew" bit later on tonight.

I'd totally be up for this. I'd see this whole thing playing out as a precursor to a breaking bad episode, with clocks bloodied and bruised and dramatic chase scenes.
If this project is still going on, I'm still up for a few parts. I'd love to get the "PLEASE DON'T KILL ME" part at the beginning, but we'll see about that when the part distribution begins.
When I said "I'll get you the parts later on tonight" I actually meant to say "OH FUCK THESE PILES OF HOMEWORK ARE FALLING ON TOP OF ME"
ok
I'm sick
as hell
sorry
like out of nowhere I'm suddenly barely able to get out of bed long enough to turn my computer on
but I think I'm getting better (? maybe)
if you want to try to be

you could post itt
or pm me
or -email me
if you have my e-mail
I'd like to have them
before I start the thread proper
but I guess it doesn't really matter
lotus
you can probbly have that part
there's no fair way to distribute parts other than first come first serve
but you're good at flash
and it's my colalb
so I'll do what I want
Parts I'm interested:
8,9,12,17,18,30,38,45
I'd really love to do 8 and 17

I'll wait until the collab's stats (size, framerate, etc) are posted before I get started, but I know exactly what I want to do for part 1, so it shouldn't be too long of a wait. I'll probably take more parts once this begins. So far, parts 16, 17, 25, 30 and 40 interest me. I'll just see which will still be open when I'm done with part 1.
I'm confused, are we just claiming parts or is this just an interest thread-check thread?
This is just an interest check thread, but some people seem to like sharing what parts they want. We haven't even gotten any specifics yet.

Lol I thought so but everyone was shouting out parts.
Don't mind me, Fufu. I'm just reserving a part in advance in case this thing actually works. Slurpee doesn't seem to mind so far.
I'd be down to do one part, but I only have CS5 so that kinda makes it hard for me to get in on collabs with all you retro Flashers.

can cs5 save backwards?
I ask because cs4 can save as cs3.
if not, I have access to a computer with cs5, and could compile on that.
I'd love to have you in on this
again sorry sorry sorry for the delay, folks. all my body's energy seems to be going toward fighting the infection.
I'm good for posting, and shuffling into to kitchen to heat up chicken noodle soup to drip feed myself with
