I think BBCode being disabled in spoiler tags might have something to do with a post I made in the Grid when the new spoiler tags were introduced, in which I nested like ten spoiler tags to hilarious effect.

It's probably easier to disable BBCode in spoiler tags entirely than it is to block spoiler tags within spoiler tags.
