Title: planning to make a game. HELP.
Post by: BilliardBall10 on November 13, 2011, 06:00:53 PM
well, im trying to make a game, but i know NOTHING out of actionscript(oviously)

could you teach me some basics, like character-moving (it will be a platrform), weapon moving (if sword, or gun), and/or damage done by enemy, upgrading/leveling character, and/saving game/loading the game.

also, it will have not only upgrades, but also items to equip/use.

but, my first game will be merely a platformer, with the sue of swords, and baddies to kill.
and collecting cheerios boxes.

and getting to final level to rescue strawberry clcok and FU.

OTHER GAMES I WOULD LIKE TO VENTURE:

-an RPG

-a ''choises'' game. how can i make pressing buttons on a game, so that the story develops/and ENDS, differently?
how do i stop frames?

-a horror-sci-fi interactive game

-another RPG, but with better leveling, items, and longer story.

i will appreciate the help, im new on this, so show me patience.
teach me on AS 2.
and/or the best parts of java, and/or as 3, or ANYTHING that can help me.

merely a platformer? lol nigga wat. I think the best thing you should do if you are interested in making flash games is first do some experiments like make a hittest work or make a character walk around.

then if you have figured out those components on their own then you can put them together and start by making a level.

And as for places to learn uh idk I just google alot if I want to know it :/ I'm not exactly a pro myself
