I've been a member for over a year now and I am STILL a clockfan. What gives? Did I miss something in the charter or FAQ's? Or was it just a glitch in the system? Any help would be greatly appreciated... it bothers me so much

Quote from: STUBZ;1637826Hahaha you have no idea what you're talking about.

Its hard to explain really...
Just that you can tell the difference between the genres after you listen to it enough

Quote from: Light Thunderbolt;1637441so Static-X is progressive metal??

I'd consider it borderline Progressive/Heavy Metal

Quote from: Light Thunderbolt;1637024when is metal progressive metal???

I can identify progressive metal usually when the singer sounds a little different, the bass lines are amazing, and the drums are playing complex beats (note, this is not always true).
So its like the most unique sense of metal there is with strange instrument orientation and/or strange time signatures (I've seen 4.5/4 in a Dream Theater song).
If you take a look at any of these bands you'll know what I mean.

Quote from: Etch A Sketch;1636424I wish I knew the definition of prog becuse I literally have no idea.
I can link you this gem of a site I found though.
http://www.metal-archives.com/browseG.php?g=prog
That looks like it contains contains 4632 prog bands to look up.
Plus you can click on other genres if you wish.

Perfect! Thanks!

For Angra, I only have Freedom Call, and that's cause it had a cover of Painkiller and that was my favorite song for a while. I'm going to look into their stuff some more though. Tool? They're just epic. Mastodon I took a look at, I'm starting to like it alot. Gojira sounds like progressive death metal, sounds interesting I'll check 'em out. Porcupine Tree's borderline progressive rock/metal. High Tides- I haven't really heard anything kind of like this. But as for Strapping Young Lad- this is exactly what I'm looking for! Thanks!

Quote from: Etch A Sketch;1635574Dream Theater.

If you want screaming prog, look up Between the Buried and Me

BTBAM is in fact my currently favorite band :D
Dream Theater's a little too electronic for my taste though

Quote from: Aussie;1635612If there's anything about the Clock Crew that you should know, it's that one of the things we don't pride ourselves in is the quality of our movies.

That said, we could do with another talented animator.

By the way, welcome to the CC. :)

Thanks! And I agree but I still want to make somewhat of a name for myself. I'm not that good, just got flash like a week ago, the tablets not all that great, and my drawings never turn out great, but still I'll give it a shot!

Ok then so I just take it then?

Progressive metal, like Rush but metal. So some screaming, but also powerful drum tracks and grooving bass lines. So yeah anything that sounds cool.

As hard as I try to look, this has to be the hardest music genre to find amazing bands. I'm getting tired of listening to the same albums over and over again. Any help'd be greatly appreciated!

Is GammaClock taken? There's a Gamma... but no gammaclock.
I drew a character and I wanted to know if that was ok even though there's a Gamma already.
