Quote from: RobClock on May 06, 2023, 08:18:41 AMWatched the Coronation this morning. The Archbishop of Canterbury does this thing where he rocks on the balls of his feet and as soon as I noticed it bothered me for the rest of the service.

I saw a little of it before I went to work and i was like holy shit imagine them making this much of a pantomime of any other job promotion haha
idk who lymphoma is but I will hunt them down and execute them in their own home with a professional level of efficiency

<3 we all luv u slurpee, u can do this!!! :D
i have alot of issues with linux when I use it and I also have alot of issues with windows when I use it, I think if you want a nice intuitive GUI for a computer you're gonna have to deal with a certain amount of god fucking dammit why won't you work work you cocksucker please I beg you

I have linux (LMDE5) on my home desktop and then I have a little laptop with windows (11) on it. I think if you combine them both and learn to understand them, they can usually fill the holes the other one can't do well

that being said the fact that LMDE5 and windows 11 in my experience are even level with each other considering the former is made by volunteers and the latter is made by MICROSOFT blows my god damn mind, and windows really should be alot better

also windows spies on all of it's users and I don't like that one bit. people say "well big companies already have all of your information anyway" but I think that's a lousy excuse. I'd respect you more if you just said "I don't care they can have it" lmao

October 09, 2022, 03:14:05 PM

on4ward is channel on youtube right now that posts some really cool remixes of songs, but with a Super Mario 64 twist! :D

I genuinely really like some of these, they remind of MACINTOSH PLUS sometimes. It's a real dreamy sound and I can't get enough of it. Here's some of my favs:

Have a listen! :)

the mario movie doesn't look stupid

It actually looks fucking baller as shit but holy god damned fucking god damn shit FUCK crisp rat is not a pick for mario. I thought it would like, come together a little when I saw the trailer but nope it still doesn't work.

I have LONG MAINTAINED, that if charlie day is luigi, then they should have hired the guy from my name is earl (jason lee) to play mario it would have been PERFECT. Like he does voice acting too he played syndrome in the incredibles

Quote from: k9 on September 30, 2022, 03:29:12 AMDo you guys ever like go to a library, like a PUBLIC library? I've been in some of the ones in universities but honestly they kinda suck it's just BEWKS.

i have never had a hot beverage at the local library

i think i went from 'i never use my library card' to 'once in a while' when i realized that if i wanted to read something like a recently published book-format comic from a reputable publisher, i wouldn't automatically have to buy it, because my local library might have it

which is, like........ why library was invented

i've also gone to librarie for rEsEaRcH like stuffy books and old newspapers and stuff, but libraries do all kinds of wild shit these days that i don't really know about

they also have kiosks where you self-checkout your own books without even talking to a librarian
and i think fines for late returns have gone out of vogue, weirdly enough, don't know how that works, but feel like library late fines didn't change with inflation at all and it's been something paltry like 10 cents a day since before home computers existed

I don't read alot so there's not typically alot of books I wanna read. I DID however ask one of the libraries if they had a copy of the unabomber manifesto because I rlly wanted to read it but they didn't but they DID look at me like I was a psychopath

the library in the "county town" is p big and they have this room where they have all the newspapers saved on little films and you can put them in a little machine and read them. I could never figure out how to work the machine but I rlly wanna read a particular newspaper from 1998. There's this chain of supermarkets in ireland called dunnes stores, and SOMETHING REALLY BAD happened in august 1998. The ulster herald wanted to pull all the ads from the paper that week out of respect, and they did. BUT dunnes stores wouldn't pull their ad, so the only ad in the entire paper is a full page dunnes stores ad. not a good look haha

I've used the self-checkout key osck before it's p handy but I always like talking to the librarian. And yea late fees aren't a thing anymoar. I have a few books that still need to go back, and in northern ireland at least, you can return the books to ANY library, so that fucks. I have a book I took out in 2011 and I really wanna hand it back in to see what they think lol

cool stuffs man  :duelin:

hey I haven't posted on .net in a while :D

Do you guys ever like go to a library, like a PUBLIC library? I've been in some of the ones in universities but honestly they kinda suck it's just BEWKS. the libraries NI thing they do here is fucking awesome, it's been pissing rain all morning and I came into the library and they gave me a cup of tea and a little biscuit because it's so cold, shit rocks mang

i rlly like coming in here and theres so many of these places too, the only problem is I have to REWIRE my BRAIN to use the computers in here, I deleted this post like NINE FUCKING times while writing it because I am currently IN THE *LIBRARY

what r da libraries in ur area liek

*post provided by the ni libraries board
Quote from: FLOUNDERMAN_CLOCK on July 30, 2022, 01:22:37 PMI'm dumping some of my garbage on youtube because the city wont pick it up anymore

I've been playing the game Hypnospace Outlaw recently, and honestly the game looks and is written so wonderfully it just makes me wish the game had... gameplay. Seems like a waste, but maybe it's just because point and click games aren't my thing usually. This one is alot of fun though.

This is a screenshot from it I took, I love writing that's both cute and funny like that :D
Quote from: VCRClock on July 13, 2022, 05:38:09 PMAnd of course, one of the most convincing arguments for toting around your own MP3 files is so that you can listen to the Weird Shit that's not on streaming.

That's the big one for me. Basically all the good jungle techno from the 90s isn't on streaming. And I can't listen to shit like THIS then whats the point lmao.
I stopped playing wordle when the NYT buyout kicked in, it was actually a rlly fun little game, rlly cute little internet stuff, but as soon as I logged on and got asked to accept cookies I removed it from my bookmarks and never played it again.

Quote from: VCRClock on July 12, 2022, 07:32:07 PMuntil spotify launched their own brand new hardware interface for your car lmao aaaAAA. but also: since Big Tech giants aren't pushing handheld mp3 players anymore, available products kinda suck these days! many are also kind of stuck in a clunky UI timewarp where you've gotta menu-dive instead of type-to-search. (and even then... why would you go without being able to play songs you don't own?) rockbox is a noble FOSS effort but it's definitely an Alternative Lifestyle now

I still think MP3 players are the best way to listen to your music. It's broken right now, but a while ago I got a 4th gen iPod and I love that little thing, I just took that fucker everywhere with me. I don't use streaming services at all, and honestly it's not really an intentional choice anymore it's just how I use my computer. Music piracy is A-OK most of the time. Like do I feel bad pirating Brian Wilson's 2004 version of SMiLE? NO! He's like a MILLIONARE, the album is 18 years old, and he's like 90 he's prolly dead RITE NOW. Would I feel bad pirating, a techno album made this year by a very small chilean breakcore group and one that contains some of my favourite techno tunes ever? YES! YES I WOULD. So I just give those guys like £3 for their album on Bandcamp, it all works out and this innovation in culture has been duly rewarded.

Even tho my family all have spotify and netflix accounts I don't use it PURELY because
A- it's easier for me to just do what I always do on my computer
B- fuck da system mang

tldr: street rules bitch I don't give a fuck
