General Discussion / BritClock Reflects
August 05, 2010, 07:47:51 AM
Clockday is only 10 days away, so I thought it would be an appropriate time to reflect upon the golden era of my Flashmaking. I've put a little piece together on my blog, which can be found here.

As discussed in the article, I won't be submitting a 'big' movie this year. I'm away for much of this month, but if I get time I'll hopefully put something together. I'm actually going away on the 15th, so I might need somebody to submit it for me.

Hope it's a good one!

Flash & Flash Accessories / 'Flash 8' warning problem
December 29, 2009, 11:53:44 AM
On my movie Operation Five Chapter 1, I included a thing at the beginning to prevent the movie from playing if they do not have Flash Player 8:

Unfortunately that also seems to include subsequent Flash Players, so now everyone sees the message. The problem can be resolved by right clicking and pressing play, but most viewers don't seem to think of this. I don't have the .fla any more so it's difficult for me to edit it. Any idea how I can solve the problem?

Flash & Flash Accessories / Tweening on CS4
January 25, 2009, 08:52:29 AM
So I want to tween an object that starts in one position, goes to another then returns to its original position. I would like it to ease out on the first transition then ease in on the second. However, if I select ease in for one frame it seems to change it for the entire tween, so I can only have the whole thing ease out or the whole thing ease in. Is there a way around this? Furthermore, it seems impossible to select frames that are part of a tween - you seem to have to select the whole thing.

Edit: Oh, I have to select "classic tween". Okay then.

Flash & Flash Accessories / How do I obtain Flash
January 15, 2009, 02:48:05 PM
I had a trial of CS3 on here for a while but it expired - I used a keygen which worked for a month but then told me I had to 'activate' which I didn't want to risk. So then I tried a torrent of CS4 but the download time was three days. Then I tried to download a trial of CS4 from Adobe but it told me I had to download some component first which was almost a gigabyte, which is ridiculous. Can anyone point me in the direction of an easy way to get a copy of Flash? Would like CS4 but Flash 8 or something will do if it's going to be that much trouble.

British rock legends Oasis are set to unveil their new single, The Shock of the Lightning tomorrow (August 15th) in tribute to the annual Clockday holiday.

Primary songwriter Noel Gallagher explains why he chose to make this move.

"Back in the 90s, it were all parties and drugs and that. But now we've all cleaned up, we watch clock movies on tour instead to pass the time. We thought we should give something back."

Lead singer Liam Gallagher continues;

"I watched some of those clock videos to our songs, like Wonderwall. They were all right."

Noel Gallagher went on to explain how the Clock Crew had inspired him in the past.

"I saw that movie The Void, and I was just in awe. So that night I went and wrote Stop the Clocks, which was completely inspired by that movie."

The new Oasis single is to be played on BBC Radio 1 tomorrow morning at 8:15am GMT - A time which many are saying is another nod to the date of Clockday.

I'm incoporating the Clock Crew into yet another school project, this time for my Graphics GCSE coursework. Anyway, I need you guys to comment on the artwork I made for this box so I can copy and paste some of your quotes as 'professional opinions'.

kthx, be slightly critical but not too critical.

Necrapolis / Olympics fiasco
April 07, 2008, 01:29:46 PM
Forgive me if this has been posted, but I couldn't find it. What do people make of the recent protests during the torch relays in London and Paris?

You may have noticed I haven't produced a proper Flash since 2006. This is largely due to the fact that I purchased Twilight Princess in 2006 and I'm still yet to finish it. Anyway, I'm almost done now, so when I have free time in the Summer I should probably make something. Would people prefer:

 - Music video
 - Serious movie with plot
 - Humourous movie with loose plot
 - Ridiculous movie with little plot?

Upon realising I don't know who 75% of them are.

And I came across this...

How on earth did this guy get a girlfriend?
