Flash & Flash Accessories / Ripping from video clip to Flash?

I want to take a video from Youtube and put it into my Flash, so I can animate over it. Is there a way to do this? How do you guys put videos into your movies?
I used YTD Video Downloader to get the video, and it's currently in .flv and .avi forms. I tried using the Import Video option in Flash, with the "embed video in swf and play in timeline" option, but it just shows as a tiny black box on the screen, and doesn't play.
I am using Windows 8 and Flash 8.

So fellows we started a collab in Clocktopia. It is over 1/2 done, and it is pretty great.
Unfortunately, Clocktopia is on life support, so this collab is an orphan and a refugee.
Let's bring this shit back to life.

Anyway... um... hi again! I really have no idea how to summarize what's been happening lately, but I shall try!
We've been totally cut off from internet lately because we moved into an apartment. Pretty cheap place, but it's still great cos it's OURS.
Aaron got a job serving food at a nursing home, and I've had jobs variously as a Sandwich Artist, a barista and a housekeeper at a hotel. He's loving his job, but because of the terms of his visa he can only work at the same place for six months, so in a few months he has to change to something else.
We probably shouldn't have cheaped out on his visa, but there's nothing we can do about that now.
Things have been awesome with both of our families. It was a little weird for mine at first, but now they've accepted that he isn't some random molestor, so it's all good.
Aaron's family has been fucking AWESOME. MY GOD. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH. They sent a care package a little while ago that had all the stuff he'd been missing. Holy fuck they need to import Peanut Butter Cups RIGHT NOW. Those are GODLY.
Also, Australian salsa is a LIE. My entire nacho experience has been based upon TRICKERY!
But... er... enough about that. This has been the best seven months of my life, and I hope it'll continue like this. :3 Next July we're getting hitched and it will rock painfully. We're serious about this. We've even adopted a budgie together!

He's left America. In a little over 21 hours, ChalkClock'll be arriving at the airport. I am nervous as fuck, but ridiculously excited.
What would I need to bring? How would I know where to wait? What's the strongest energy drink, in terms of caffeine?
