Seems to me that the ironic, "for the lulz" humor of the CC would translate pretty seamlessly into Pepes and Groyper chuds. Let's be honest, the CC historically hasn't been socially enlightened. Out yourself here, you freaks.

I watched Hereditary last night, and oh boy was I not expecting that. I saw the trailers for this movie last year. They seemed to bill it as a traditional teen horror movie. Having watched it now, I don't know how you could successfully market this movie. Duping teens into going into what they think will be a jump-scare-laden slasher flick is probably they best way to get a return on your investment. But it is not that. And the hilarious 1-star Amazon reviews given credence to my thought that this movie was not a all what most viewers were expecting. And most did not know how to take or deal with it.

This movie is pure pain. They suspense is very intense. The family discord is physically unsettling. The violence is quick and unforgiving. It hurt to watch this.

It is a very well made film. The cinematography is beautiful. The symbology and psychological aspects are rich, with a lot of depth, encouraging thought and analysis long after it's over. It reminds me of the other A24 release, The Witch, which I also felt was a very well made, almost art-film style of horror. I like this type of horror movie.

Hello my dudes! I was just burning the midnight oil, and I ended up back on here. I'm installing Unbuntu on an old machine, and I was messing around in my archives. I found my old Flash files (that I can't even open now). That made me a little nostalgic.

I was just reminiscing a bit. It's pretty crazy that most of us were teens when we joined, and now we're mostly in our 30s. Time keeps on moving forward and relentlessly so. Man, how old would Bio be at this point?

I was searching the forums a bit and saw MarijaunaClock posted a few years ago. Some of you may remember that I was particularly active on the politics board and for a good chunk of time moderated it. MJ and I argued a lot as he was a left/liberal and I was a borderline-religious, conservative-leaning libertarian. How times have changed. I'm basically a leftist now. Sorry if I said anything crappy to people back then, though I think I was mostly civil.

I saw DrunkMagiKoopa is dril. WTF. That is amazing. I can get how the CC/NG planted a seed for the absurdist comedy that goes over well these days. And congrats on those who kept the dream going and are working in graphics/coding/animation. I just looked at some of Munglai's new stuff, and it's amazing. I wish I knew what some of the other folks ended up doing (what does Orange do for a living? What is Strange doing?).

Sometimes I think back to all of the time I spent on the forums and all of the time I spent tinkering in Flash. What was it all for? I don't keep in contact with anyone from the CC. But I have used the programming, artistic, and graphic-design skills I acquired. That's pretty cool.

I'm living in Baltimore (hit me up) for a few more months until I move to an Indian reservation (hours from any major city) to do work there.

Hello again, friends. I haven't posted in about 4 years, but what's a few years now anyway? BB10 has been messaging me on Skype, asking for the .fla files for the Hotel California collaboration. I just searched around on the forums to see if anyone else has been talking about this, and it looks like no, no one is talking about it. There has been some confusion about this project over the years. I would just like to put some of the details out there for the record.

I was the project aggregator/organizer for the HC collab. I also made all the menus and personally made 2 entries. It was active around 2004 - 2005. It had a new feature in which there would be multiple parts per audio clip which would change randomly with actionscript, producing a different viewing each time. Despite a lot of interest, I believe about 40 - 50% of contributors didn't finish their work. There was also some issues with the complicated AS menus that cableshaft was coding. Some of the parts had only 1 poor-quality entry, but there is at least one per open slot. It's not that it could never be submitted, but that I held on for some of our high-level animators to finish their parts, something that never happened. I tried to revive the project years later, maybe 2007 - 2008, not sure. Things didn't pan out again, but I did release a swf of what we had around that time.

I'd be happy to produce another swf file for everyone to see if there is interest and if someone has a suggestion of where to upload it. And to answer BB10's question, yes, I have all of the original .fla files and everything associated with the project.

I happened upon this series by HotDiggedyDemon, a former Newgrounds staple (best know for the Jerry series). I had never seen the My Little Pony show before watching this; I was only generally aware of the brony phenomenon. This series is a combination of MLP, Ren and Stimpy, and a newer Newgrounds comedy sensibility. For whatever reason I think it's really great. Is this a gateway to watching the original show? I as you may know, I'm in medical school right now. Last semester we had anatomy lab in which we dissected cadavers that are preserved in formaldehyde and all that.

So anyway, when there is something interesting about a certain body, the instructor will get everyone's attention to have a look. This man had a huge aneurysm (an enlarged artery in danger of bursting) in his abdominal aorta (a big artery on the back wall of the abdomen). He had a large stent in the artery to prevent it from bursting. It looks like this:


Later I was studying for the final exam in the anatomy lab alone with a small group of friends. We were looking at this particular body, and I think, "we're about to use this body for the last time (on the test), so it won't matter if I pull this stent out." I just wanted to see what it looked like outside the body.

I started pulling, but it was really stuck in there. Finally, the thing pops out pretty violently, shooting little chunks of chopped-up body bits into the air and up in my face, eyes, and even some in my mouth. I kind of spit everywhere trying to make sure I didn't retain any cadaver nuggets in my mouth. It was kind of gross.
