Hey so after a short discussion with the staff in the blast I figured I'd make a thread to see if there's any interest in a writing contest to go along with our Halloween flash event.

I dunno about the topic/ prompt we'd be using for the contest or anything yet so right now we'd just look at whether there's enough interest to even bother with a competition. We could probably go with the old system of winners being decided by popular vote.

If the contest draws a decent following, the first place prize will be a ~$20 shirt of their choice from TopatoCo!

I know at least a few of us are aspiring writers, or at least enjoy doing writing a little in our free times even if we have no intention of making a career out of it. And it feels to me like writing is being undervalued lately in the CC, which makes me sad.

These workshops could definitely be clock-themed, but even if they aren't I feel like they'd help push a portion of the clock crew into better literary proficiency.

SO I figured I'd send out a feeler, are there any clocks/ clockfriends/ newbies that would be interested in doing these? There wouldn't be any major word requirement/ cap on them, this is just for fun and self-improvement.

How does it feel to know that you're basically republicans that like to do drugs?

It was a format of a bunch of user-created monsters and artifacts, usually dangerous and deadly, described in text with an occasional picture. I remember they were all numbered. So they were referred to in the article as monster #12335 or whatever. I can't remember the name of it and it's pissing me off.

I also remember that it was really common for the monsters' descriptions to refer to other monsters in the description, and then you could click that link to read about the other monsters.

The pages were rated on writing quality with the top most viewed ones easiest to find.
