General Discussion / Need Audacity Help ASAP
April 29, 2010, 03:46:08 PM
I'm trying to record something on audacty, a vocal part and a guitar part, and as of recently, audacity has been doing some peculiar things that completely prevent me from doing so.

Ever since i selected the "Software playthrough (play current track while recording) button to use my synthesizer without an amp and still hear the sound, I can no longer unselect this feature without the playback of audacity dropping to about .1 speed.

Its impossible to record myself singing over the guitar part when my own (delayed) voice keeps overpowering everything else and making a big confusing mess.

Does anyone know why audacity is doing this? Its one of my favorite programs and even different versions and installations of it all keep having the same effect =(.

because I want to see something awesome that I haven't seen yet. Feel free to post obvious ones, sometimes I overlook really good films and don't actually see them till years later (example: Crash). Preferably not a love story or a family movie, I just watched Moon(2009) and now i have a craving to watch great movies.

Hook me up folks!

also whoever wants to be that guy and post something bad/unfunny/porn etc will get a big fat :idgi: !

Entertainment / Bought a new synth
September 08, 2009, 03:05:22 PM
ITS SERIOUS BUSINESS GUYS.

But really its actually very impressive and does a ton of sequencing stuff, fairly easy to learn but there's so much depth to it once you have the basics down. Does anyone else own a synth/keyboard? If so, what kind?

So recently i've become addicted again to the pokemon franchise and I've started playing the new pokemon platinum, which is entertaining me quite a bit! What i've realized though, is that I fairly desperately need someone to trade with, so i can evolve certain poke'mon like kadabra and haunter. if anyone could trade with me that would be sweet!

I've decided to pack up and move for the summer (till august 31st) to go live with my sister in San Diego. This will be a huge trip for me, traveling from as far east coast to as far west coast as i can possibly go, me living in cape cod MA, its really like as far as i could go inside the states haha.

ANYWAYS, I was wondering, since i'll probably be doing nothing but working, if any of your hip dudes lived out there and wanted to hang out/ show me some things to do besides the normal tourist bullshit. I don't know if any of you guys skateboard or anything like that but i'd love to find some sick places around the city, hit up some parties or whatever i'm just trying to find some sort of contact there so i dont sit there every day on my ass.

basically, who wants to show me whats good up in cali

So i'm kinda tired of using the same avatar and signature for like a year or more now, and I was wondering if anyone has some good ideas for a new one or if a mod wants to change it by all means.

If you describe something good for me to make i'll put it together and then spend the rest of my life in your debt

General Discussion / Lets Share All Our Music!
July 15, 2009, 01:51:36 PM
Hey guys i just recently downloaded this free program called Simplify Media, Basically it allows you to share your itunes libraries without a lan connection, so you can play any music from my itunes, i can play any from yours.

While i know some of you don't use i tunes because it really does suck, this is probably the only cool feature. If you have an itouch/iphone you can download the simplify music 2 app, which allows you to listen to your music on your itunes, your friends music on his itunes, and up to a total of 30 itunes libraries together.

I know you guys all have crazy musical tastes and i want to see what you have so i can find some great stuff, so we should all share our info for it here

TLDR;
GO TO http://www.simplifymedia.com/ and download the program and add me as a friend so we can all listen to each others music

in order for this program to work your computer has to be on, but for techno geeks like im sure a lot of us are, this isn't too uncommon.

my username on it is comeau1337, you can add me and i'll accept you, and then all you have to do is go into your itunes library and my music will pop up under shared.

EDIT: Also, post what kind of music/how much you have so others can decide if they are interested in adding you!

I have basically every kind of music, pretty much a mash-up of everything, about 6,000 songs, so i'm sure you can find something interesting on there.

Alright, this may sound completely foolish and very well may secure any doubt that i am crazy but whatever here it goes;

I'm trying to find this fucking song
I think it was made in the 80's, pretty confident

I believe it was used on YTMND as a song fad for a while, i cant remember for what

The chorus, or at least the part used in YTMND consisted of a chorus of guys singing "Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh " or something to that extend although its impossible to get what i mean really since i'm just typing it, but just picture a lot of oh's okay?

if someone wants me to post the notes of the chorus i can do that too i just dont know the song! fuck!

OKAY!

I looked at the top viewed of all time YTMND and i found one with it in it, its really not funny but watch till about 30 seconds or so in and the song  changes to the one im talking about!

General Discussion / Projector Issues
March 15, 2009, 09:10:36 PM
So i bough a projector, and i shouldn't say i have any issues at all because it works just swell, but there are a few things i am curious about.

- I have the projector, but how do i hook up sound now? For instance, i can hook up my xbox 360 to it, put the yellow cable in for video but the two sound ones have no where to go, so my gigantic video cannot be backed up with superb sound. Is there any sort of speakers you can get specifically for this?

- Is there any way to hook up cable to a projector? There are only a few ports on the back, Monitor In, S-video in, and yellow wire from rwy cable thing in. this is an older projector from around 2003-2005 so there's no high def support or anything.

Gaming & Technology / Microsoft Entertainment Pack
February 08, 2009, 10:21:14 PM
Many years ago i found my very young self devoting a lot of my time cooped up at my fathers business' office to playing and mastering all that the Microsoft Entertainment Pack has to offer.

For those of you who have forgotten, or those of you who never knew, the MEP came preinstalled on a lot of computers around what i believe to be the 95 98 era of windows PCs.

Who can forget some of these instant classic games!?

Rodent's Revenge- Guide your mouse to trap the cats and get your just desserts!

Jezz Ball- Draw verticle and horizontal lines to capture the screen from those dastardly balls! My personal favorite!

Pipe Dream- Hopefully everyone can remember this often reused game where you scurry to make pipe pieces to avoid the evil green goo from erupting!

Ski Free- if you don't remember this game eat a dick or something to that extent! That fucking yeti is still in my nightmares!!!!

Guys i hope you all know this series of programs so we can all talk and reminisce I'm really excited. I just BOUGHT it and playing this all again is so nostalgic.

Rattler- Its like snake, but in my opinion better in every way.

General Discussion / Windows Delayed write failed
February 07, 2009, 10:45:10 AM
So i have two harddrives, my D drive functions perfectly and has windows on it and is about 80gb.

My C drive has vista on it (which i don't use so i don't think that's important) and its a bout 240gbs or something around that level. I recently got LEFT4DEAD on pc, and i was well enjoying it and having a grand ole time, and then all of a sudden one day i got this error "windows delayed write failed" and instantly my C drive would stop functioning, and it would tell me over and over different parts of my drives information had been lost.

If i restart my computer, it goes away instantly, and wont come back until i play left for dead or run a virus scan

What i'm guessing is there is a part of my C drive that is fucked up so when it tries to access it it just gives up. I tried deleting a lot of stuff to make more space (since i only had about 2gbs left) and gave myself about 22gbs of space to work with, and deleted left 4 dead and reinstalled it to the same problem. this also happened with the Warhammer demo, so its not just left 4 dead.

any rememdies? Perhaps defragmentation would help me?

(does anyone really still have 56k?)

Absinthe, Celtic, The Beatles and I all went to the providence place mall to spread some clockcrew propaganda! I took a bunch of photos, so without further adieu!

Before Celtic Arrived, we set a custom made B wallpaper as the desktop on one of their Laptops.

After some well deserved pizza at the cafeteria, Celtic arrived and we left our mark at our table!

We put a few posters in the parking lot elevators

Some posters on the landing of a stairwell

Posters on the overhang of the stairwell. For those who are curious/have good eyes. From left to right The Beatles, Absinthe, Celtic.

Celtic running full speed back after posting a flyer in the direct view of a security camera. What a rush!

This one was taking on the roof parking lot. It was cold! brr.

This is right at a side mall entrance, on some mall protocols poster I believe.

The Apple store got clockified. A foreign black man told me to stop taking pictures. Sorry black security man!

Pepsi machine outside a restroom

The Sony Store

We Even got the state building!

A final shot taken in the bathroom mirror! Absinthe is there too, he's just mostly vampire so his reflection wouldn't show up.

We also hit some bathroom stalls and a few other random locations. As far as i know, Celtic is going on to hand them out at his school (NEtech) which is just swell as well! Viva la clock crew!

Gaming & Technology / Skate 2
January 12, 2009, 11:10:27 PM
I gotta say, i played the demo, and it seems to me like they took what they had, and just perfected it. There is everything you could want in a skating game, from hippie jumps to moving around rails for the perfect grind. The FPS is smoother than the last, the graphics are sharper, the character creation is more in depth. Everything plays nicer, they included so many more features this time around. I am really, really pumped for this game.
January 23rd!!

Anyone else excited for skate 2?
