i have alot of issues with linux when I use it and I also have alot of issues with windows when I use it, I think if you want a nice intuitive GUI for a computer you're gonna have to deal with a certain amount of god fucking dammit why won't you work work you cocksucker please I beg you

I have linux (LMDE5) on my home desktop and then I have a little laptop with windows (11) on it. I think if you combine them both and learn to understand them, they can usually fill the holes the other one can't do well

that being said the fact that LMDE5 and windows 11 in my experience are even level with each other considering the former is made by volunteers and the latter is made by MICROSOFT blows my god damn mind, and windows really should be alot better

also windows spies on all of it's users and I don't like that one bit. people say "well big companies already have all of your information anyway" but I think that's a lousy excuse. I'd respect you more if you just said "I don't care they can have it" lmao

I don't read alot so there's not typically alot of books I wanna read. I DID however ask one of the libraries if they had a copy of the unabomber manifesto because I rlly wanted to read it but they didn't but they DID look at me like I was a psychopath

the library in the "county town" is p big and they have this room where they have all the newspapers saved on little films and you can put them in a little machine and read them. I could never figure out how to work the machine but I rlly wanna read a particular newspaper from 1998. There's this chain of supermarkets in ireland called dunnes stores, and SOMETHING REALLY BAD happened in august 1998. The ulster herald wanted to pull all the ads from the paper that week out of respect, and they did. BUT dunnes stores wouldn't pull their ad, so the only ad in the entire paper is a full page dunnes stores ad. not a good look haha

I've used the self-checkout key osck before it's p handy but I always like talking to the librarian. And yea late fees aren't a thing anymoar. I have a few books that still need to go back, and in northern ireland at least, you can return the books to ANY library, so that fucks. I have a book I took out in 2011 and I really wanna hand it back in to see what they think lol

I've been playing the game Hypnospace Outlaw recently, and honestly the game looks and is written so wonderfully it just makes me wish the game had... gameplay. Seems like a waste, but maybe it's just because point and click games aren't my thing usually. This one is alot of fun though.

I still think MP3 players are the best way to listen to your music. It's broken right now, but a while ago I got a 4th gen iPod and I love that little thing, I just took that fucker everywhere with me. I don't use streaming services at all, and honestly it's not really an intentional choice anymore it's just how I use my computer. Music piracy is A-OK most of the time. Like do I feel bad pirating Brian Wilson's 2004 version of SMiLE? NO! He's like a MILLIONARE, the album is 18 years old, and he's like 90 he's prolly dead RITE NOW. Would I feel bad pirating mekanoworld.xyz, a techno album made this year by a very small chilean breakcore group and one that contains some of my favourite techno tunes ever? YES! YES I WOULD. So I just give those guys like £3 for their album on Bandcamp, it all works out and this innovation in culture has been duly rewarded.

Even tho my family all have spotify and netflix accounts I don't use it PURELY because
A- it's easier for me to just do what I always do on my computer
B- fuck da system mang
