Quote from: FloundermanClock;1975340If you can ONLY get SMT games released on Nintendo systems in america, I'd get Strange Journey (DS) and SMTIV (3DS). Strange Journey has the best plot and atmosphere next to Nocturne but SMTIV has perfected the demon and battle system. If you're willing to play a fantranslation of the SNES games you should start with this website's translations. The proper order is 1 -> 2 -> Nocturne -> Strange journey -> IV. Playing them in that order gives more impact to the events but they're all pretty self contained so it won't ruin it to skip around. Still try to play Strange Journey before IV if those are all you get though.
Then there's a bunch of spinoff series like Persona, Devil Summoner, Devil Survivor, etc, but they don't intersect so much so you can play them whenever, or not at all. Soul Hackers is kinda neat though and that's on 3DS.
