Quote from: PhantomCatClock on December 07, 2025, 05:55:37 PMI've used a G600 and moved heaven and earth to keep using it since like 2005. They DO NOT LAST more than a couple years, but I'd always get another. New ones were like $20, $25 on Amazon and Best Buy a few years back, so I stocked up, but eventually ran out. It's like $300 on Amazon now, but when my penultimate one died, I caught it for like $80 there and it

is not the same mouse. Braided cable replaced for a very shitty, sticky plastic coated one, the buttons feel abysmal (abysmal), different logo, different plastic, different texture blast. cringe, will get a razr whatever when this one dies, sure.

Call it the G601 or something you shitsuckers

I feel so validated. I bought the "successor" to the M590 for my work laptop and it feels like crap. Texture is wrong, shape is wrong, plastic feels cheaper, click feels worse. Bleh.

I replaced my old logitech g500s with a razerâ„¢ DEATHADDER v2 a while ago and it seems to have added like 5 minutes to Windows' start-up time and makes me cry

What the hell? That would drive me mad.

I think it's finally time to move on from the Logitech M590 mouse. It's been discontinued for a while now and when this one went bad I found a new one from someplace. But now this one is going bad and I just need to move on. I can't keep chasing a ghost. Farewell, M590. You silently clicked with the best of them.

Quote from: Slurpee on October 27, 2025, 12:41:54 PMupdate: "seventeen" is creepy and makes me sad [laudatory]

I remember someone complaining that it's too repetitive, but it feels like a choice to me. I do hate too much repetition in songs, generally, but I love it for what it suggests in this song.

Quote from: Slurpee on October 26, 2025, 02:22:28 PMI always confuse this with Broken Reality, which is a completely different kind of game that's less popular and less well-received, and I own both, but for some reason I've only played Broken Reality, so whenever Hypnospace Outlaw comes up I have a moment where I'm like "I've played that :D" and then I realize I haven't

How is Broken Reality, tho? Is it a desktop sim?

Quote from: VCRClock on September 29, 2025, 09:08:34 AMvery funny in an academic sort of way that this combination of text and image would have such a strong alternate reading for a small, small subset of the population, when practically no meaning was intended and the designer was probably obliged to put the word 'obey' on the shirt somewhere

I completely forgot Obey was a clothing brand for a minute. this isn't even their only strawberry

Ohhhh, I forgot, too. This looks so... crude and unofficial. But I guess that is kind of their thing, right?

Did I already ask if anyone's watched Ted Lasso? I'm watching the season 3 finale and...

And rich people really just be out here calling doctors to their house when they get a bad hangover or are sick to get an IV that usually just makes them all better. Fuckers.

Quote from: PhantomCatClock on September 05, 2025, 06:52:11 AMhonestly, probably a knockoff TRAVELER'S NOTEBOOK. They're just the blank covers with plennyo slots for goodies, then like, elastic bands for you to put your own notebooks in. i'd recommend dot grid because you can still write on it without it being distracting

Oooh, will check it out, thank ye.

Quote from: Slurpee on September 05, 2025, 02:32:17 AMit's weird that the death spiral doesn't really work in the other direction. if something's really really good so more and more people use it so it makes more money and gets better and better one day it will just suddenly be terrible for no reason

This is one of my biggest frustrations with current business models. Start cheap and good, get popular and make tons of money, charge more and more, get worse and worse. Fucking hell.

Speaking of, anyone play D&D and have a recommendation for a good notebook to use as a player? I'm playing for the first time ever next week and I'm overwhelmed by the variety of notebooks online. Most of them just look like journals, but I was hoping for something with, like, a notes section, slots for spell cards, etc. I could just buy a binder and make my own, but I figured there would be something out there made specifically for that. Stupid Google is either like "here is a list of just regular notebooks" or "here are very specific, handcrafted tomes that people have created over a twenty year campaign."

Quote from: Slurpee on September 04, 2025, 02:06:25 AMtell me more about ladytron

They're a Brit synth pop band. I've only listened to the three albums of theirs I own, so I'm no expert, but they're typically fronted by the two female vocalists. My ex annoyingly called it "bored girl music" because they usually sing with a light, breathy tone. They've opened for Nine Inch Nails and Bjork. The three albums of theirs that I love are 604, Light and Magic, and Witching Hour. If you recognized any songs of theirs, it would probably be "Playboy," "Blue Jeans," "Soft Power," or maybe "Seventeen." I like them but I gotta get more of their stuff.

Man, Ladytron's first album, 604, came out in 2001! I never knew they've been around that long. Crazy.
