General Discussion / 23" monitor - now dualing
October 02, 2009, 01:41:57 AM
So I just connected up this new 23 inch monitor, and I am now running that one plus a 19". This is fucking amazing. I can watch porn on one while watching porn on the other! I got the monitor, brand new for $226AUD which I think is a wonderful price for such a thing!

How much does a 23" cost over in the US of A or wherever you are from bro?

General Discussion / Flash to YouTube
September 18, 2009, 10:24:18 PM
Does anyone know of any ways to convert a flash file to a video so that I can upload it to youtube? I've tried to export from flash as both .mov (but it said I needed flash 5, and even after taking it's suggestion and setting the flash player to 5, the same error arrises) and also as an .avi (but the quality is shocking and there is no sound which isn't really a problem seeing as I can add that back in using premiere).

Apparently you can import straight into premiere CS4 with a swf file but I've only got CS3. :(

Does anyone know any work arounds? Is anyone willing to do it for me if they can? The swf file is 23mb and shit but yeah, any help would be much appreciated :)

General Discussion / Animation Course 2010 - HALP
August 09, 2009, 03:30:33 AM
So I've been looking at animation courses around my city and have found only 1 university (college) that actually appeals to me. I went to their open day today and picked up some 'pre-selection kits' which are basically a little test to see if you're good enough for the course. If they like your shit you get called up for an interview and you bring in some of your work and they look at it and talk to you about it and stuff.

In these kits you need to submit a short 10 panel storyboard (with no words or text) on a topic of your choice, out of the 4 they give you for that course. Only 2 of the courses I am looking at need this storyboard/panel thing.

This is where you come in clock crew!

It needs to be 7-8 panels of a story, then the 9th or 10th panel should be say, a punchline, a joke, a surprise, some way of ending the mini story.

For the course I REALLY want to get into (Animation and Interactive Media), the 4 topics are:

-Cycle
-The Flight
-Memories
-Fire!

For one of the other courses which would be really swell, but not my first preference, (Games Graphics Design) the topics are as follows:

-Jump!
-It came from above
-Forgotten
-Last Chance

Before/while I start brainstorming I would like to get some other ideas from my chums here. I'm not asking you to do this for me, I just wanted to know if anyone here as any brilliant ideas regarding any of these things. First thing that comes to your mind, anything. I would just like to get other peoples views on the topics to get a broad perspective of it and then work from there. You'll probably all give me ideas that are either homo-erotic or COMPLETELY inappropriate but I'm willing to take that risk.

tl;dr

Come up with ideas for a 10 panel comic WITHOUT WORDS for 1 of these topics from each group.

Animation Course:

-Cycle
-The Flight
-Memories
-Fire!

Games Graphics Design Course:

-Jump!
-It came from above
-Forgotten
-Last Chance

Ok, so open up flash 8, and press the magnify tool. Then double click on the toolbar somewhere so it becomes detached from the side of the window. Then still with the magnify tool click the toolbar once to lock it back in place. Check out the magnify icon.

As some of you may/may not know/care SnakeClock and I have taken over production for CCTV3. Everyone who has made a part needs to send it ASAP to the following e-mail address:

clockcrewtv3@gmail.com

In the e-mail include how many parts you attached and your Clock name as you wish for it to appear in the credits or whatever.

We wish you a merry July and hope you can all get a part in. There is no due date as of yet, so if you haven't started, hurry the fuck up.

Go hard on me.

(I didn't have any dark colours (not even black) so I had to use a dark blue which wasn't THAT dark either)
