It doesn't even remotely match up to the Metroid Prime series, which is why people act like its the worst thing ever. The series had set the bar pretty damn high before it. Taken on its own merits though, it's a good game with a bad story.

I see. I've only played Super Metroid for the SNES though I've heard a lot of good stuff about the Prime-series.
But I'm still looking forward to play this game even if the story isn't very good.
