Both the Johnny gags didn't make me laugh very much. My favorites were probably the wrestling on TV, and when the guy got stabbed in the arm twice. I also liked the whole domestic-toughguy thing in general. As a consumer I think adding in a louder or more busy ending might give Mondo some of what they want.

I might agree with the Johnny thing. It's still good, but might be one of the weaker aspects of the short.

I personally thought everything, including the Johnny parts, were beautiful and had me laughing out loud.

This for me too, especially the snakes on TV, and the small wrestler's voice/dialogue. That, and the fact that it so suddenly cuts to the TV with something totally unrelated and unexpected

Update: It looks like Frederator probably want to take a longer, talkier version of Ace Discovery. We're gonna try pitching them an episode of Buck and Rick too, which is another thing we've been playing around with for ages.

Lone Wolves and Rajesh are going on the pile of ideas to be developed further. Although I might make that episode of Lone Wolves as a one off film kind of thing since people dig it so much.

Lone Wolves is comic genius. I think the gags are pretty spot on. I thought the johnny gags were fine. The first one "Go fuck yourself johnny" is necessary for introducing the Mitch character but since mondo wants more hard-hitting humor maybe more along the lines of "Speak again and I'll cut your face off, johnny". The last gag at the end with johnny being dragged by the ice-cream truck was my favorite gag and had me laugh out loud. I think really pushing it to a even more ridiculous level would improve it: Johhny screaming, his flaming body being dragged smashing into garbage cans, getting hit by other cars, lots of noise, ect. All being reflected in the glasses worn by a completely cool-faced Mitch. Perfect ending.

I agree with everyone your strong points (and the key to your style really) is always your uniquely fast-paced overly dramatic physical comedy. Knife stabs, breaking the lid of peppers, snakes biting the face, ect. If you can go back in and do another pass and shove as many of these little gags as you can throughout your cartoon it just gets better and better. I think you could definently do this with the 'neighbor taking a shit' gag which seems a little tame. That character (the neighbor) could probably take some more physical / verbal abuse.

This is a great short. I always love you work, keep up the brilliant story-telling!
