I don't really follow any one single teaching. I have certain people that I like to hear talks from, and I like to go to the Providence Zen Center sometimes to listen to talks. I spend a good amount of time meditating, mostly focusing on quieting the mind. The dhammapada has taught me a lot of things, as has the diamond sutra. That being said I've also learned a lot from the Theravada school especially from Ajahn Brahm. I don't really get vajrayana buddhism, probably because of their excessive use of metaphor and symbolism which totally gets lost in translation for me. That being said I think there are multiple paths to enlightenment, but I could be wrong because I'm pretty fucking far from it. I'm pretty human, shit happens. Also I think that Being and Nothingness by Jean Paul Sartre has many very Buddhist moments that translate to 20th century thinking without even intending to do so.
