I remember when filling up the latest portal entries with under judgement flashes meant something.

From yesterday:

Two hundred votes and not front paged = 75 active portal voters + three days

(or maybe because the classic portal doesn't even show all the stuff that's been under judgement the longest until the new stuff gets out of the way)

it's a dated system that should be removed or brought down to around 150 votes. it's the last 30 or so votes that take so long, in my experience.

I think its mostly cause its harder to find the under judgement flashes now. The under judgement flash used to just be a click away, you would just click "flash portal."

also the vote requirement should definitely be reduced by a lot

Taking the Portal out of the spotlight hurt Newgrounds more than anything else. On any random day half the 'recently submitted' column will be purple, because it's hidden away in a corner and nobody gives a shit.

I agree with Deodorant that it's usually the last 30 votes that takes fucking forever; but the <200 views guaranteed on everything you make is one of those pleasant things about Newgrounds I'd hate to see go away.


Of course, to fix all this, NG would have to undo half the shit from that gigantic redesign*, which i just don't see happening.


*You know, aside from the entire frontpage and submission systems which they've already just changed back to the 2007 design with a fresh coat of paint. The latter of which still doesn't work right.
