Basically everything's done, battles, FMVs, story structure and also Snake is fully animated with all attacks.

What I'm lacking is sprites for all the enemies, and their attackings. If anyone's up to it a list of enemies is bellow, characters are about 40x75; colour doesn't matter too much as long as it isn't 3bit.

Bosses':

Genome soldier (white, snow uniform - all they need is a FAMAS)
Ocelot (with Revolver ofc)
Raven (inside tank, which fires)
Wolf (not much needed, as she's be hidden in snow field)
Grey Fox
Metal Gear (side view if possible and looks ok, with rail gun, lazer - rotating dome?)
Liquid (shirtless, brown combats - no weapons)
Hind-D (side view, rotating blades, fires missiles)
Mantis (I'm thinking statues and pictures to throw at Snake as well)

I'm going to have a go at some tonight, probably Grey Fox - but I it's not a medium I've really done before and I know plenty of you are awesome with sprite stuff.

When the game's finished it will be exclusive to Kongregate.com for a month then onto NG; CC will of course get first preview before release.

Thanks. :army:

WarCorrespondentClock

I'd do it, but I've never played a Metal Gear Solid game.
So really, I reckon I would be missing some key details.

INoodleClock

Backgrounds, anyone know some good backings I can use for the battles?

A couple of these from Batman might work - Link

Metal Gear and Mantis' room are gonna be a little harder to place. Hmm..

Asshatclock

Don't ruin metal gear solid for me.

Make something else.

Why on earth would a game like metal gear need an RPG?
if there were two guys on the moon and one of them killed the other with a rock that'd be pretty fucked up wouldn't it?

Now I think about it Pokemon is kind of one, avoiding the damn swimmers to see you way to Cinnabar. Otherwise, bam, battle.

Never forget.
Quote from: GearBox;1349678The Clock Crew may die, IF we don\'t get more people like CrustClock, who are good at flash. Thankfully, people are coming back (ie, CorpseGrinder).

Don't # or I'll kill you.

1: Do anime Metal Gear.

Good: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/5/55/NES-ME-USA-REV-A.jpg
Bad: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/f/fa/926596_20080521_screen019.jpg

2: Use turn-based combat that requires no interactivity besides choosing your attack from a menu.

Even if you do use turn-based combat, there needs to be an extra layer of interactivity. Thousand Year Door, even with that, stagnated after you had to use the same attack for every enemy hundreds of times in a row, but at least it was fun as long as that wasn't the case, and at least it wasn't Final Fantasy, where the game is purely statistical, making it like playing a tabletop RPG, but without the good story, the good storyteller, or the excitement in the game.

INoodleClock

By RPG it's like AC!D - just set for Shadow Moses and a different style of art. Each boss unlocks new weapons/items (cards) and they each have different stats. for each enemy you encounter (obviously the CQC moves won't work as well as the Stinger on the Hind for example).

Cut together with DGN sceens to reduce file size, and also they look awesome.

I'm planning on various courses you can take, on the basic level whether you save Meryl or Hal - thus giving you different items for the next play.

Since lots of you seem hesitant I'll try and get some screens up, just mixing some music now and planning some other bits, like Grey Fox attacking the ray-dome into an interactive sequence.

Check MGS: AC!D for the way it'll work, and MGS: Digital Graphic Novel for the style (just think the same but with anime/sprite style).

Still need a sprite artist!

Tell me next time you're making an original game and I'll make sprites for it.

it would kill the whole sneaking part of the game, you would have to purposely kill soldiers to level up

don't do it
