Graphics cards memory

So i'm upgrading my pc's graphics card and want to know is there any way of finding out what memory it should have (ddr, ddr2, ddr3)
My pc uses ddr2 ram if that helps.

I don't think the type of RAM your comp has needs to match the type of your card. Mine uses rrd3 but my RAM is ddr2. I really don't even know the difference between the 3.

No, your graphics card will most likely use one of your SLI slots. Make sure you have a free one before buying a card.

The best video cards on the market, such as the GeForce GTX 295 and the Radeon HD 4870 X2 actually use GDDR5 memory.

If you want a good video card that could handle any game in the world though, you treally dont need to go much higher than a GeForce 9800 GTX+, a GTX 260 should be fine.

Just make sure that your power supply is powerful enough to run a card like that. To run a GTX 260 you need an absolute minimum of a 500W power supply.
I'd run it with a 600 or more, but you could run it with a 500.
