i think we shoudl pay more attention with important sections of the site, like the TIEM magazine, the registry (we know how annoying it is when we have to research about new members) as well... the updates on clockopedia...

and perhaps establishing our power on youtube (we shall post more movies there)

and ofcourse finsih some collabs!

i think now we ll have the momenst to do it, so lets go!
(btw what happened to them an who organised the mag? did hel eft/swordfight? with DWARFINATOR'S GLORY STICK)

I've been wanting TIEM to pick up again for awhile. From what I remember, we were waiting on some kind of page turning function. From Tree or Albino, maybe, but they were not around to provide it. Or something like that.

I still need to finish my illustrations for my Zombie Lincoln story. It was supposed to be in TIEM's next issue.

:siren: WALL OF TEXT ALERT :siren:

If I recall correctly, the deal was that Leek either officially ended Tiem or decided to limit it to one issue per year, although that second link doesn't seem to have anything to back it up. Unless it's mentioned somewhere in the first link. I didn't read the thread. :o

Albino wanted to resurrect TIEM on his own, so he took a bunch of submissions. He had enough for a new issue, I think, but I also think he wanted the page-turner function so he could put the New TIEM on Internet Cult... otherwise, he could have just sent the image files to Leek or someone, because the page-turner script on .cc works on separate image files in a directory, I believe.

To address BB10's other concerns: the Clockopedia [cp]Registry[/cp] is/was kind of my pet project. In the past, I've made threads asking people to make sure they were on it, and tell me if they noticed anyone else was missing. I may do that sometime before Clockday. As for expansion of Clockopedia articles, that's like a thing of its own. I think maybe Golden was going to do some Clockopedia improvement a while back, but I might be wrong. Maybe that needs a thread of its own, too.

On the whole, I think there's a bunch of stuff on the Clock Crew site that, ideally, ought to be reorganized or eliminated, but the Crew as a whole is somewhat short on PHP wizards with a lot of time on their hands (at least for the time being).

  • The Arcade is kind of useless - there are few incentives for playing (or submitting) games there, instead of just going to Newgrounds.
  • The Comics section could potentially amount to something if it wasn't so hidden away and awkwardly organized, but even that seems somewhat extravagant.
  • I don't know about the automated Contests section - does the administration still use that anymore, or do they just hand out awards the old-fashioned way? It seems like a bunch of ancient competitions have yet to be judged, anyway.
  • Clock Crew Groups got a tiny bit of use for a while, but that's another section of the site that's kind of buried. I don't know that making it more visible on a sitewide menu would help it much. It seems kind of unnecessary.
  • The Fun section was kind of a pet project of mine. I collected old Clock Crew desktops from Wayback Machine versions of older Clock Crew sites, and added a few new submissions from then-current users. It's kind of a lame page, and it doesn't help that it's formatted as part of the Clockopedia, although that does make it easier to update. Like the Merchandise section, the Fun section would be best targeted to visiting Clock Crew fans, or new members. Also like the Merchandise section, it would benefit from visibility, although the Fun section is far from necessary.
  • The Literature section has roots in Clock Crew history, and was partially intended to replace TIEM, I guess, but how long has it been since anyone used that? (I think part of the fun of TIEM was wondering whether your article would get in, the fancy formatting, and everything!) That's another section that maybe could benefit from being more prominent, but then it also might be stepping on the toes of the Clockopedia (tutorials), writing contests (fiction section), or both.
  • The Music section would make sense if the Clock Crew produced music as the Clock Crew on a regular basis. Right now, it just seems like a somewhat outdated promo page for stopAllSounds();. It would make sense to merge this with the larger Merchandise section, but realistically that would have to wait until the Clock Crew had a store that didn't operate through the Zazzle or Lulu storefronts. (Another project for bored code wizards with admin access.)
If some of these less used/useful sections of the Clock Crew website was compressed, there might be more room in the header for other sections that might benefit from the exposure. I've deviated pretty far from the original purpose of my reply, it's much longer than necessary, and its location means nobody will read it anyway, so I'll be quiet now. :o
<Marlin Clock> This thread seems proof positive that divisiveness at any level is usually bad for the Clock Crew.
<PhantomCatClock> are we talking about the same clock crew
