I thought this thread was about Avatar.

Also I couldn't watch more than 20 minutes of Sleepy Hollow. I don't know, just the whole thing really annoyed me - I think it was basically because I chose to watch it when I was most pissed about most of his movies are Johnny Depp Being Goth.

Absolutely not, the CGI in that is excellent

Munglai

Quote from: Biblo;1706662I saw the 3D trailer of this yesterday and it expands a bit more on the plot and it is definitely a sequel.

Why the fuck is it called "Alice in Wonderland" then?

I'll tell you why:

Because Tim Burton is an arrogant cunt

It goes like this for me:
Pee-Wee's Big Adventure: Cool
Beetle Juice: Superb
Batman: Pretty good but it's not Batman (arrogant disregard for research)
Edward Scissorhands: Great
Batman Returns: *see Batman
Ed Wood: Great if a bit patchy
Mars Attacks!: Cool
Sleepy Hollow: Meh
Planet of the Apes: Get fucked
Big Fish: Great
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory: Meh
Corpse Bride: Meh

I never saw Sweeney Todd but he really pisses me off as a person. Batman defines him for me because it shows his "FUCK RESEARCH, I KNOW WHAT I'M DOING" attitude. His films (even the good ones) are really patchy. They're mostly just a string of events with a half baked story glossed over them. Some of these flourish in this atmosphere and some don't.

The Nightmare Before Christmas: WHOAHAWAOHAOHOLYSHITTHAT'SGOOD

But yeah, he got the project going and it was based on his poem and drawings, but it's Henry Selick that made it a good story and a great film.

Yeah I think he needs to be kept very firmly on the art direction side of things. If you let him get his hands on the script he will stick his dick in it.

Finally, what I've been feeling has had the correct words placed on it

Thor

Quote from: SnakeClock;1706280You'll be happy to know that his next project is a stop-motion feature-legnth remake of his short film Frankenweenie. I'm looking forward to it immensely.

...Then after that he's directing a movie based on Nineteen Eighty-Four. :suicide:

Has Tim Burton totally given up on making original stories? What's with all the remakes lately?
Quote from: MafiaMettaurWhat the hell is with that shit you posted? You know what, I'm joining the Locks, just to stop stuff like you!
Quote from: polyhedronclockYou're a fucking clock, what else do you have?
To be fair, you don't have anything. Clocks are just machines that tick.

Why do I get the nagging suspicion that those are somehow tenuously related?

I have a friend who read the script. She said that the Hatter isn't in it as much as it looks, but their whoring him in the trailers to attract people.

I think it looks okay. Not great, not terrible. It's too early to say for me.
The CGI looks fine to me, then again I'm not one who really cares about CGI. When it comes to CG, It doesn't take much to make me happy. I just don't really care.

As for the script, Tim didn't write it, Linda Woolverton did. Not that she is a fantastic writer, but I liked The Lion King and Beauty and the Beat so I'm not too worried about that.
I'll probably see it, and I will probably like it, but I doubt it will be one of my favorites.
