Flash is f-ing around with me

Flash is F-ing around with me again. I drag a symbol named, "Police Car" onto the stage. It gives me the "there is already a symbol that exists in this document" thing. It doesn't do that when you drag a SYMBOL onto the stage. So I just clicked OK.
 
Next, I go back a few frames and everything SEEMS okay. But it's not. There is a background that is perfectly fine. But when I test the scene, it is replaced with the "Police Car" symbol.
 
How could it possibly overwrite that background? It's not like the background was named, "Police Car" or something like that.
 
So I'm asking YOU, Clock Crew, how can I fix this?

If you are dragging it from a different flash and they were originally named the same thing (like Symbol1) and then you changed the name of the symbols so they weren't the same flash for some reason still stores them as the original name or some shit. I don't know messed me around a bit for awhile to.

Either try saving both flashes, closing flash and reopening and trying again after the names have been changed or if that doesn't work drag the object from the flash it is in into a new blank document then copy paste from that document into the one you want it in.

if all else fails, open symbol, copy all layers, create a new symbol names anusrape, paste them anew and tada you got a new symbol with all shit includeddd

Good idea! I did that with the pilot episode So I will need to do it with this one.

On the book that are tilted on the bookshelves, you should first of all draw a rotated rectangle, not a weird rhombus, and second of all draw them short enough so that they would still fit in the bookshelf if they were upright. These are both most easily done of course by actually drawing a rectangle with the rectangle tool and rotating it.

You should stop your terrible, terrible music at the end of the movie. You can either set it to stream instead of event, or to start, and then have a stop frame at the end set on the same audio.

Also that was the worst flash ever good job.

You probably have a symbol inside of "police car" with a name like symbol 1 or tween 1 or something.

And say fuck, for fuck's sake.
