Soundcloud tags?

Well it's all user uploaded, and if you put up copyrighted music it gets taken down. As for filesize, you can put up a certain amount for your account unless you pay extra.

cuz sometimes I want to post songs in threads from soundcloud and it would be cool if it was embedded rather than a link.

Also I know we have a couple music artists here and it would make sharing created music that much easier and accessible.

That would work if we hosted our songs elsewhere. SoundCloud doesn't have direct links, they have their own embedded flash player. They also have a pop up player that floats along the bottom of your Browser that is featured on a lot of music blogs. They've been around a while, and are starting to get a lot of attention. It's the best option for hosting your music.

Look I'm just saying a lot of independent artists use it, as well as established ones, it's easy to host, has an embeddable player and has an easy download thing all in one package. My main argument is that I've wanted to post soundcloud songs multiple times and it's a little awkward just posting a link to a song, but also it would probably foster the audio community here a little better.

And Ribs, the whole point of this is an embeddable player, the ng portal doesn't have that. And even if it did, soundcloud's more professional and actual artists use it, not just 13 year olds.

Like Insomnia said, an mp3 link isn't compatible with soundcloud, but that would be nice to have as well.

Also hell if it's restricting you to only hosting your own music, then why not use the bloody audio portal while we're at it?

By hosting, I guess I specifically meant sharing. I actually had the urge to change the wording but didn't want to waste more time editing. Guess I'll waste time posting, himm? It can't direct link. You can still download songs if the artist wants you to be able to, and has an app websites can use. We're just on a forum and need something else to complain about. In 45 seconds you'll forget about it.

I agree with this proposal.

On the subject, the LokiClock there is a Russian imposter. Since he only has that one song up and I doubt they've had the name longer, should I ask the SoundCloud people to relinquish it?
