You could argue that conservation of matter only matters within the boundaries of a single universe, and that creation of other universes isn't bound by the physical laws of ours.

Or if you don't believe in free will (let's not have this debate either), you might imagine that all universes that ever have been or ever will be created to contain quantum possibilities already exist, have existed or were going to exist anyway, and that silly threads like this one don't actually create them. oh astronaut just said that, huh

There isn't even any evidence that any universe beside this one exists*. All I've ever seen is evidence of quantum wave functions that sensationalist media pretends is proof of parallel universes.


*I'm still not totally convinced that this universe exists but it seems to be the consensus in the scientific community
