I don't know if this will end up getting voted into law, but apparently Congress is trying to pass a thing that would stop companies like Microsoft from spying on us without our explicit consent. Not that Congress is the most trustworthy collection of individuals, of course.

I heard that Germany and I think Australia governments already have laws like this as well. It'll be interesting to see how it ends up going down
