Diablo 3: RoS - Out with Jay Wilson, in with what Diablo 3 should've been 2 years ago.

So a few weeks ago, a few close friends of mine began playing Diablo 3 after the recent release of the Loot 2.0 patch and other small fixes to the game. They began claiming that Diablo 3 is actually enjoyable again and that I should give it a shot. I had my problems with the original game, such as the horrendous story and poor itemization. Not to mention the RMAH and lack of freedom in the campaign.

To my surprise, they weren't kidding. Loot had totally been revamped and top tier drops were a bit easier to come by. Not only that, but they were actual upgrades instead of just random stat rolls. Inferno difficulty wasn't impossible anymore, and I began to feel as if my monk was really starting to feel powerful. The story was still terrible but nobody really plays Diablo for it's story anyway. Being as such, 2 still is the best.

Fast forward and we got the first expansion for D3, Reaper of Souls. This exp. added Adventure mode (which is basically a return to form for how one plays Diablo. Just think of D2 countess, baal, and Forge runs only a little less repetitive and a endless dungeon bonus stage for all your hard work) the mystic (which was supposed to be in the original game, kinda pisses me off) on top of a whole new act and class. The story is a step up from the original vanilla game. I almost want the new dev team to go back and fix the entire game but that's not gonna happen of course.

It's purty good. If you haven't taken a look at Diablo 3 in a while, I would say now's definitely the time to get into it. It's just as addictive as Diablo 2 used to be all those years ago.

The fucking ending though- jesus christ. If that wasn't the single most stereotypical piece of Blizzard lore I've ever experienced, i don't know what was.
